Okay after a good night's sleep I came back and installed only the VST3 versions of the plugins. With the exception of VPRE-73 Halloween Edition, all the VST2 plugins n projects were automatically switched over to VST3 plugins. This is likely because the plugin name changed from "VPRE-73HE" to "VPRE-73 Halloween Edition". I can live with that.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
