Hi Peter, confused about the installing the free version. I clicked the "Try" button and all I got was a chance to download it. Not a word about if it is the free version? I doubt it is, because now I'm left with the installer wanting to install the plug in versions + modeler, which I doubt is on the free version? Can you help me ?

After authorizing, try clicking on 'Modules' right below ReSing in the product manager. Says it registered the ReSing Free module for me.

It is. It installs two voice and an alto sax and an electric bass modules.

I downloaded this, only took about 4 hours. Took me a while to realize I had to download the other voice, sax, and bass. My first impression is a bit mixed. The preview didn't exactly match the processed result. That being said, the processed result is impressive. Love the way it handled my pitchy wobbly mess of a vocal. More testing needed but sounds pretty good so far.

It is possible to somehow choose location to install Resing (not just models' data, but whole rest content too, except plugin ofcourse) ? Its 9gb after all.

Thanks for the help everyone. Unfortunately after the installation has gone through and I'm left with the installing the content I get an error message: "We couldn't create the path to save the installer, Please check the folder settings or choose a new location. (code: cl212). Also the Product Manager says "Wrapping up" but will not move on?
Trying to open ReSIng will stop in an error: AI Engine Unreachable.
Already deleted ReSing and tried installing again with the same error message.
Any suggestions?

Keep trying. I had a lot of errors installing. I just kept going until it was installed. Starting AI Engine seems to take forever. Gotta say, Neil's lady-wig is very fetching.

Glad I didn't pre-order the full version.

Tried again, this time also deleted all the files that were previously installed. Seemed to go fine as I got the prompt to relaunch ReSIng to use it. Program started but stopped in an error

I guess this is Universe trying to tell me that I already have enough programs. I'm done.

I'd say it has more to do with IK Multimedia than your cat.

If your on Windows, open up the Task manager and make sure no Resing exe is running, or close any that are. Then try opening Resing. That should fix the 'engine unreachable' error.

At least it did for me.

And yeah, after install the product manager gave some sort of error and just stayed buffering until I closed it but the install was fine.

IK PM was hanging on the "Wrapping Up" message for me also. I ended up closing and re-opening IK PM and it showed as installed. That happened for each of the voice models as well as the main application. ReSing does (kind of) work for me now, but doesnt seem very stable. So maybe keep trying. I've come to expect such nonsense from IK MM unfortunately.

Okay. After more attempts to use this, I need to be connected online to get it to run (the free version) otherwise I get the 'AI engine unreachable' message. The Resing description says you can use it offline, but I guess you need to connect to get it started, then can go offline (or this is a limitation of the free version)? Doesn't make sense but being online is the only way it will run for me.

One thing that I noticed was that there was a point where I thought that it was finished installing and it wasn’t. I was doing something else and all of the sudden, a window popped up, basically asking me where I wanted ReSing’s voice data to go. I picked my storage drive and then it seemed to finish up, but I only had the free models. I guess you can tell it which other models to download after that, kind of like Tonex.

I gave it a go yesterday, and I have to say that I found the results to be pretty good. Not sure how it would hold up in a sparse mix, but in the track that I put it in, I don’t think anyone would notice it wasn’t a human singing. They would also appreciate not having to listen to my nasally drone.

I’m going to finish remixing and mastering this track. Initially I just posted a rough draft, with the idea that I just wanted to have a little permanent record of this song. Now I think I should polish it up. I’ll post it on the Cafe sub forum when I’m done.

I’ve got mixed feelings about it all. Sad that it’s now this easy to replace a human, but also, I’m just replacing myself. No one wants to collaborate with me, and I’m probably too much of a jerk to collaborate with anyway. So it’s l not like I’m putting anyone out of work. As always, if anyone hears my dorky music and wants to talk collaboration with a curmudgeon, I’m all ears.
