As for ideal demo options. Being able to save patches we create make it more likely we'll get it imo since we've invested the time to create and save a patch which, presumably, we'd like to use in the future, otherwise we wouldn't have bothered saving it in the first place. I also prefer the occasional noise (that isn't super irritating) or audio dropout demo.

While the unrestricted time-limited demo seems like a good idea, sometimes you don't buy it right away. Then Later you decide you might want to get it but you can't demo it anymore, so you just move on. The unrestricted for 20 minutes, then you have to reload demo kind of kneecaps it as well for me. Nothing like creating a patch in a synth and just as it's getting good you get the "demo has expired, reload to demo again' pop-up (Arturia, I'm looking at you).

We just dropped our more comprehensive walkthrough:

Plenty devs will give a second demo or an extension if you ask them. Just sayin.

Plenty won’t as well i suppose. Often they don’t have snazzy copy protection that they can turn on and off whenever they want, like say Minimal. Heh

Everyone knows they are great at pissing off their customers with their approach to pricing/buying.

Credit card to demo, wtf??

Sounds interesting in the sounds it's making. I had planned to demo, but if I have to add a card it might stop me doing that.

I honestly can't quite decide how much I like their FX or not. Rift is really good sometimes and just mush at others, Fuse is ok, but maybe more squashy than hi fidelity, and their UIs are quite bad imo, or not to my taste...

Must admit the 3rd party vids attract me, though the MA vids initially were...ahem, let's be kind and say basic, especially with no demo. Very tempting. However, is it good enough for me to buy sight unheard? I love me some vocodery sounds and seems like this can do that and more. There's no way on God's earth that I'm subscribing to anything, let alone for a demo. Especially not for a demo. Are you fkn insane? :nutter:

I think (but have limited way of knowing) it's pretty close to being good enough to risk it, but jeez the business people in MA must live on some alien planet. How am I supposed to know it's good enough to buy? I just give you my money and hope? I've never used anything from MA but I already have a poor opinion of the company. Could be worse I suppose, could be iLok. They don't use iLok do they? :o

Having said all that...new vocoder toy! :hyper:
If it's not a vocoder I apologize for simplifying it, but IT'S NOT GOT A FKN DEMO, SO HOW WOULD I KNOW? :hihi:

It's definitely more than just a vocoder. I can guarantee you have nothing else in your plugin library quite like it. If you already own and like MA's creative tools like Rift or Current, and like effects for sound design or that radically change the incoming signal, then Evoke is basically a no brainer.

Plugins like Swarm and Cluster would be tricky to buy undemoed because there are so many acceptable substitutes available on the market. This one is definitely unique and very versatile.

If you've never tried a MA plugin, it's a much harder decision. I love the visual feedback, UIs, and aesthetics of MA plugins and therefore own and regularly use pretty much all of them. MA my favorite creative FX vendor by an mile. But understandably there is always some portion of the population that their offerings won't resonate with.

Happy to announce we'll be adding checkout free perpetual trials on the product level after a discussion yesterday and this morning. There are no "business people" at Minimal Audio. I'm the CEO, founding engineer, and here chatting with you but I agree It's due time we have better trial support and upgrade / loyalty programs.

We still have our return policy which is super easy and a trial which you just need to sign up for and can immediately can for access. Purchasing/trying Evoke is in no way a risk and you're in no way at risk of being stuck with a plugin you're not happy with.

Agreed & thank you :tu:

Ah, so I can finally demo Current... And for what it's worth to people who have never used Minimal Audio plugins, I have a bunch of them and have never had any issues with them (Windows).

Good to hear. I'll be demoing it soon as I can after the weekend (got some night shifts now). The "trial" is a no-brainer to avoid like the plague, and I simply don't care that I can can it. You're not getting my credit card details before I actually buy something :nutter: . Not subscribing to anything simply to demo a product. I can imagine how many others you've missed out on for exactly this reason. Money back...you'll forgive many of us for being skeptical about getting refunds from audio sw companies. I've seen more pigs flying overhead in V-formation than companies that happily refund money for buying product that's not faulty.

So, good news you're joining planet earth. I will very likely buy it once I've demoed it. I want to like it. Will those other effects you have get demos? Some of them looked interesting to me, but obvs a no-go for the same reasons...

Thank you, will demo and probably buy now.

That's a fantastic decision, imo.
I use Rift and Current regularly.
Great tools, you have nothing to hide.

Quality always prevails in the long run. Being able to test a plugin without having to pull out your credit card is just convenient.

I'm loving the synced retrigger freeze function. It's like sample and hold on the freeze function. Too fun.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

The intro price is time limited but I presume the price of $79 for people who already own all the other plugins is not, right?

This may be a "me" problem, but is there or could be there something like a global toggle that switches the "pitch track" - Mode to a global "midi instrument" - mode? I clickt through the presets and have to switch back every preset change...
