Any plugin that can be controlled via MIDI CCs can also be set to whatever you want with velocity as you just change that in your controller or host on how it handles CCs and then set the plugin to respond to that CC however you want
Note that I never called either approach correct - I called it “correct”. The quotation mark were there to indicate the I didn’t sincerely believe that something was correct, and that I was just stating my preference.

Using CC in lieu of velocity doesn’t work. Velocity is per-note information, while CC is global for the whole instrument. Some of us like to play polyphonically, you know!

CCs are not always global they absolutely can be polyphonic and many DAWs and VST Hosts can take incoming velocity data in your MIDI stream and turn it into polyphonic CC values. I do this all the time

Hmm, in Studio One ver 6, this doesn’t put out audio in presets that have the fx section enabled. Once I disable that it works.

Win 11, anyone else seeing that?

Mention it in the bug reports section on their Discord: https://discord.gg/Kmfx2EEdbP

Nearly two weeks after release I'm hoping for a first update soon. They're usually very good at tidying up everything that is reported so if it is a bug it'll get fixed.

The other thing I really like on this is the polyphonic unison and the high voice count options that make it useful. Very nice to have.

That's strange, I'll test it in Studio One later. For bug reports or support requests, it's usually best to post on Discord or open a support ticket.

We’ll have a beta ready in a bit, featuring several improvements and fixes. I wanted to wait until most of the changes felt just right before sharing it.

Great! Would you like us to submit bug reports here or in the Discord? Do you want us to submit bug reports about the external preset import?

Discord or support tickets are definitely better. And of course, any feedback is welcome, especially regarding the preset import, which is still experimental for now.
