just for fun, worst audio soft developer in history?

You know I'm actually kinda surprised at how many votes some companies are getting.
I mean rgcAudio got a vote. I've never really been that excited about any of their products except the sfz freebie, but I could spend quite some time trying to work out how they would be the worst in any department.
And Wusik has got too many votes for an organisation that only really just started and has done nothing but blitz the market with cheaper ways of enjoying their product - while already implementing new features and updates in the process.
IKMultimedia I'm guessing is for support rather than for their software. But I'm still quite surprised.
And discoDSP. Never used their stuff but I've never read anyone saying anything particularly bad about them.
I wouldn't have thought that these companies would polarise people enough to be voted on in here.
Imageline, Emapple, Cakewalk, Steinbert and reFX - none of these surprise me much because they have more ability to alienate their users - not necessarily intentionally of course.

I agree with Caleb here. Sure, Wusik's William has posted quite some nasty things occasionally, but who cares, I think support was pretty good though. And then, what the heck is going on with RGC? Even if it's just one vote, I allways thought René was THE man when it comes to support and so on. And apart from some things that I still miss in z3ta+, he's a freaking gifted coder for sure!

the result has maybe something to do with the speed at whiich George locks and deletes posts and threads in their forum and with the the kind of replies he gives.Caleb wrote:

- keeps me from buying any of their products - Arguru is a cool and nice dude but I can't understand how he could decide to choose this man as a business-partner.
(that's probably the reason why he started a new company now

I actually did, at the first pageWilliamK wrote:Yes, it will get ugly, mind telling why Wusik?stefancrs wrote:I wanna say three different ones

jackle&hyde/reFX/wusik
but, since I can't, I'll pick reFX this time. not saying they are worse than the others imo though.
This will get ugly...![]()

And as I wrote, it is all imo, and it actually has nothing to do with the product line of these developers. You all are good at developing good products, and no doubt, a lot of people will like you for both that and for your personalities. Don't take this poll to serious. I mean, I saw that people thought you got too many votes.
If noone would dislike you (or any other developer for that matter), something would be significantly weird
Ps. For the record, I think you (william) has gotten better manners lately

eek....toz, you cruel bastard!
well, emaggle... er, emac...no, uh...mapplegak?
not because the product sucks, but because I really feel strongly about a company that relies on snobbery and discord between platforms to generate business. or at least that is the way it seems to me. And the way they repeatedly run ad campaigns that tell lies, and then pull them once the propaganda has been eaten up. And the way that.... grrr, I guess I just don't like 'em. My loss I am sure.

This is a double-edged sword, because for one it seems somewhat unecessary as about 90% of devs i can think of do a fine job of support etc, especially considering many are individuals or small teams.
That said, some developers need to see stuff like this thread just so they really understand why they're letting themselves down.
Lets just say i'm not surprised by some of the leaders in this poll. Although how anyone could vote for WilliamK is beyond me, along with Jorgen Aase he's one of the nicest and most innovative devs i've ever known.
DiscoDSP - great products, but indeed George can be a bit rude at times, but partly due to bad circumstances at times i think.
I just hope the respective devs take any comments as constructive criticism - everyone needs a bit of that now and again.

The main problem I see is that this is a hidden-vote system. Sooo, any DEVELOPER that doesn't like us can vote on us.Caleb wrote:And Wusik has got too many votes for an organisation that only really just started and has done nothing but blitz the market with cheaper ways of enjoying their product - while already implementing new features and updates in the process.

william, this very post may illustrate why some persons don't like your 'style', not your plugins but the ton you use in your posts. personally i don't care much but i can understand their irritation. (i voted steinberg if you want to know).WilliamK wrote:The main problem I see is that this is a hidden-vote system. I remember when I just released my first VSTi few years ago, one developer (you know who you are) created a fake username and bad mouthed it. I found who it was and Ben deleted. But I couldn't and will never say who it was.
I voted too, won't say in who I voted, but I did as a musician who had problems with this company on the past. But I wonder, how many Devs will do the same but only to put negative votes on theyre competidors.
Maybe users will less than 100 posts shouldn't be able to post. You would be impressed on how many votes would disapear...

please, don't take this poll too seriously... everybody knows it's a kind of (bad) joke.

It's a wonder this thread has been able to go on this long and remain civil. I'm surprised at some of the votes though..RGC and Wusik I don'tunderstand (and William you may be taking this all a bit too personal)
but if I had to vote, I'd go with
Emapple too, because of the way they just shit on their pc users. bad! bad! bad!

i never said you are a bad developer nor that you shouldn't post. besides, i really like you.WilliamK wrote:Wopelka, I don't get what you mean. So I can't post here? I can't say anything? I can't tell people what really goes?By doing so, does that make me a bad developer?
