You lot are constantly confusing Komplete Kontrol and Komplete UI. It's the latter that would provide resizable/HiDPI GUIs for ensembles, not the former.

Thanks for sharing this insight and possibility. Seems like a path that could have a return on investment for NI. I'd welcome it & would pay for UI upgrades to some favorites.EvilDragon wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:55 pm You lot are constantly confusing Komplete Kontrol and Komplete UI. Loaded up the ensemble Lurker which is so good for weird squelchy stuff but damn, I created a seriously speaker damaging feedback loop somehow. Not even a limiter seemed to be able to clamp down on it.

Probably because none of us have insider knowledge and haven't read through API's as possible developers? The first time I heard about the Komplete UI is from you in this thread, your paragraph is where most of us end knowledge wise about what the difference is.EvilDragon wrote: Tue Dec 30, 2025 7:55 pm You lot are constantly confusing Komplete Kontrol and Komplete UI. With that in mind all I can surmise is it's a UI framework for hosting plugins in Komplete Kontrol without opening up the plugin GUI? If it's a new framework for KK and Kontakt etc. that could be tacked onto the front end of Reaktor etc. or if I'm completely wrong, let us know.

Apple Silicon is already done, none of this has much to do with Mac at this point, it's old GUI code that would need to be updated on both OS's to be resizable etc. Personally I'm resigned to at least one 1080p monitor for the foreseeable future. Reaktor isn't that bad on one.

Can't all those controls just be resized at will in the panel editor? I guess that sucks if it isn't the case but I remember being able to say this knob =x pixels. Past that all the reaktor stuff allows for custom skins. I suppose writing a kind of script that scales everything up in a given ensemble could be useful. Seems like just as big of a pain as using zoom features though. I keep a 1080 TV as a monitor for old plugins and for watching video while composing. It's very useful as there are tons of plugins that don't look to be getting updated guis anytime soon.Sound Author wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 1:34 am I personally don't need Reaktor's entire UI completely re-done. Just enlarged primary panel controls alone would make very happy. It's ridiculous how absurdly small everything is. Obviously, you don't want to implement anything that changes old ensembles, but not having to hunch over and squint at an ultrawide 4K monitor would be nice.

Reaktor 6.5.0 will work a few more years on Mac OS:

The Primary panel objects like knobs and faders have small, medium and large size options. But even the "large" size is quite small. Yes, you can create your own knobs or use ones from other ensembles or from the old Knobman library (does that still exist?) but it would be nice if we could have something more visible right out of the box when we're prototyping or just experimenting without having to stop and mess with things like that, which often pulls me out of the process and distracts me from what I was trying to do.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 11:38 pmCan't all those controls just be resized at will in the panel editor? KUI is a declarative UI language (think like Apple Swift). Has nothing to do with KK or hosting plugins. Currently is used to bring HiDPI interfaces to Kontakt instruments, but it's not limited to only be linked to Kontakt.machinesworking wrote: Sat Jan 03, 2026 11:17 pmProbably because none of us have insider knowledge and haven't read through API's as possible developers? Thanks that clears it up nicely, so there is some hope for Reaktor yet, maybe not an overhaul but at some point it being visible on a 4k monitor at 4k dpi.EvilDragon wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:05 am KUI is a declarative UI language (think like Apple Swift). What does that have to do with modernizing Realtor’s UI?EvilDragon wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:05 amKUI is a declarative UI language (think like Apple Swift). It definitely sounds SwiftUI-inspired if it's causing a similar type of name confusion (Swift is the language, and SwiftUI is the UI library written in Swift-the-language)EvilDragon wrote: Sun Jan 04, 2026 10:05 am KUI is a declarative UI language (think like Apple Swift).
I hate signatures too.

Don't know I ever thought much of Reaktor.
It's a dead letter to me, a relic from the early days when Reaktor was worshipped.
The impression I get is that the NI team who developed like it, and a few, prob a small % of synth users, really dig it.
I never liked you had to go through a 2 step process to load anything that made music, as well as put up with the obselete GUI.
With all the synths and stuff available today, compared with the days when Reaktor emerged, I can't quite see a use for it.
If I was mad on sound deign intricaies I'd prob look at Zebra 3 or Cherry Audio build-it-yourself products.
The one good idea in this thread is to make the presets available as click'n'load.
