I just sent this message to them.

You guys really need to read this thread.

I would be stunned if Zorba made any sales at all at the price you're charging. You're really out of touch with your market place. Please consider lowering the price.
A possible future customer.
**************************************
Hopefully, they take it to heart.

They're reading this thread, I think they have responded even? The same points are being made on the Gearspace forum, where they have responded that it is a one-time price with future updates being free for e.g. In any event, I agree that this is far below what the market expects by now...

Well, then it's their loss. They're not going to make many sales at this price point.Benjamin923 wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 4:36 pm They're reading this thread, I think they have responded even? In earnest, I really have no idea who would buy this. Not trying to be a downer. I remember a while back when ULTRA was dropping that people (myself included) felt it was too highly priced for a competitive market. Well, this one takes that idea to the extreme, being a synth with a design that feels almost 20 years old and software engineering that has too many rough edges and amateurish mistakes...sorry if that is too harsh, I do not intend to be mean, but this is charging $225.

I agree. I don't know what they were thinking.Benjamin923 wrote: Wed May 20, 2026 4:45 pm In earnest, I really have no idea who would buy this. Not trying to be a downer. Yes. I have a lot of their stuff and my price for this is $158.pekbro wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 11:07 pmI agree, tho I think we are going to have to start paying for the quality devs. What with all the AI stuff these days, designed and programmed by an actual person is going to become a feature.Funky40 wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 9:55 pmyeah.pekbro wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 8:25 pm That’s just their thing, charging a lot for their “masterpieces” hardly surprising.
just vote with your wallet !
this thing, the state, the price, just shows where this guy "lives". Could be taken as a pointer for future releases. He is literally spitting out the warning by himself. ( and yes, i am/have been a pulsar modular customer.......)
in SW land, the money lies -today- "by selling in numbers". The mass of mere mortals is MUCH bigger than the mass of studio pros.
Not saying that’s the case here.
In any event, anyone can argue with them til theyre blue in the face, it won’t work. That much has been very clear. Heh
It’s possible to save money with them through their loyalty program I guess.
Once you are invested.
But yeah - I don't see that I want/need this one. It was a pretty disappointing trial to be sure. If the free updates/upgrades ever make it the best sounding VA on the market, I will bite. But at this point that is... A long road

devs who tell you today that you get "free livetime" updates are in my opinion completly naiv people or just liars. In first place lying to them self i`d guess. Or it`s effectivly blatant.....
But in any case, it does not make them look good in my opinion. Even if it`s just some naivity. That`s those who vanish first from this market. Then you can shovel up your freeby somewhere yourself.
I think most of us understand in the meantime that SW devs have to survive somehow, and one path to that is further development and updates on already payed SW, given out for a certain update fee.
I would say this is our best guarant for a stable situation with bought SW.
Looks to me like the best way for both sides.
But free livelong update promises ? WTF....go f**k and lie to yourself.
These are finally SW devs, ...they know "that" -in the meantime- exactly as good as we customers do
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Torture testing with high lfo rates and redundant maxed mod connections and it’s holding up well. 8 instances in LP 10.7 on an M1 Ventura.
Sending more midi mods from multiple instances of logics modulator to various parameters and still haven’t frozen or crashed it.
Added in the cart to see a total , tax , etc and it was 179, not 225 .

Zorba v1.0.7 is now available.
https://www.pulsarmodular.com/product/zorba/#downloads
We want to be direct with you. Our initial v1.0 release was too hasty. We were excited to finally share Zorba, but the release had issues that should have been caught before it reached you.
The main problems have now been corrected:
You can download the latest version from your account download area, or from the Zorba product page.

The main problems have now been corrected:
- The Modulation Matrix now loads correctly on Windows systems.
- The AU version is now recognized properly in Logic Pro.
- Unison now includes a dedicated detune control, accessible by right-clicking the Unison control.
- OS x2 and x4 (global or per preset).
You can download the latest version from your account download area, or from the Zorba product page.

If your first experience with Zorba was affected by any of these issues, we sincerely apologize. Zorba is an instrument we care deeply about, and v1.0.7 is the version we wanted you to experience from the start.

Glad they updated it, but the blurb doesn't mention anything about the filter distortion/clipping issues people were seeing, possible oscillator harshness, etc.
A well-behaved signature.

I don’t find the latest build very good personally but I don’t want to be a downer and will let others chime in, this still feels like a synth with a feature set and sound quality from the 2000s to me

Many features are planned over the course of the year. They will be introduced in batches.

You would have to completely redesign this thing for me to sink $225 into what is essentially a common VA synth.
Seriously? What were you guys smoking when you thought this thing was worth anywhere close to $225. I would have to have my head examined to sink $225 into this. And I own almost every synth on the planet.
It's disgraceful that you would milk your customers for this outrageous price for a synth that does a fraction of what 90% of my synth collection does at half the price.
Good luck selling this thing. You're going to need it.
