That's twice now you've mentioned Machinations. One of my all-time favourite live bands. I remeber seeing them open for Ultravox in '82 when all they were allowed was about 1m of stage in front of Ultravox's huge curtain. They did a great job of curbing their usual enthusiasm. I saw them a few years ago supporting Models and it was like they had never been away - they absolutely blew Models off the stage.

Machinations are my favourite band - have been since I was in high school about the time that "No Say In It" came out.

I've never seen them live I'm sorry to say, but I do have all 3 of their CDs (had them all on tape too) that my brother tracked down for me.

They were my best Christmas presents of that year. I even made whooping noises when I opened them. :D

Have you got/heard any of their early stuff on Phantom? Average Inadequecy, Jets, etc? If not, you might want to check this page out - Innser City Sounds. Its a great site if you were ever into 80's Aussie bands. The guy just swaps stuff so you tell him what you want and he asks you to get something in return for him. I got 5 CD's, about half of which are really good, and I had to buy two commercial CD's for him in exchange.

OMG!!! I totally forgot about that album.

Kate Bush totally rules.

Ummmm....WOW!
There was stuff before the Esteem album?
And I never knew?

Oh God - I feel like I'm about to dive into the unknown here.

I checked the link you gave but it only have a Rock Arena live recording of them. I can't believe there may be some other album.

Totally freaked here. :-o

Lamb
Aphex Twin
Autechre
Massive Attack
Bjork
B.o.C
Square Pusher

seem to be popular artists (in this genre) who are often mentioned.

Glad to see Kate Bush is still popular!

Caleb, don't panic, it's just an EP with a matching single [i.e. two of the EP tracks] but it is very good. Their West Side Story cover is great.

That's molto splendid & tutti good!

another similar cool vocal track is Groove Armada's remix of "Never, never, never" by Shirley Bassey.
