Cause works in progress often require them. And I hope that it might even become bigger than music. It will be a whole vibe, style, outlook.soulkraka wrote:so whats so new about it?Lady J wrote: i have heard the future and will have it on my pop album

i saw her at cargo a few weeks ago, cute but a little too masculine and way too local to blow up in the states. i think she might be alright but that wasnt the right venue for hercron wrote:Just out of interest LJ (since I forgot to ask in the relevant thread), you mentioned the other day you were going to be producing a girl you predict will blow up in America. Would that be Lady Sov?

Sad but true. I dont like it anymore than any one else but it is the current state of things. The Americanization of the world radio and stuff is not in my opinion a good thing but it makes for one stop shopping when distributing music.dharmawan wrote:cool lady j, i will wait for your album..youre probably right about the americans, theyre the only ones with the media muscle to blow things up worldwide
Yeah you know why that is right?some indian rhythms go really well with dancehall without sounding forced

She was a bit too local to blow up here in the UK, to be honest. She had pretty much unanimously positive reviews, but very little exposure. Only heard bits and pieces myself, but what I heard sounded fairly original.dharmawan wrote:i saw her at cargo a few weeks ago, cute but a little too masculine and way too local to blow up in the states. i think she might be alright but that wasnt the right venue for hercron wrote:Just out of interest LJ (since I forgot to ask in the relevant thread), you mentioned the other day you were going to be producing a girl you predict will blow up in America. I've heard a lot of BS in my day, but this just blew me away. Who does an analysis on the intelligence of song writing. That sounds like some Nazi BS... It all comes down to numbers. Who sells the most records? It seems to me like people of all colors love that "just do it" music. Intellectual Music...

isn't Techno just a modernized version of Native American chants? drum on the fours and some minimal wailing. and they danced to it!
doesn't seem too stylistically innovative to me.

And there I was, just the other day, thinking that I needed to make music that sounded good.luCiPHer wrote:well, check the music theory threads that spread all over kvr these daysLeft Headphone wrote:luCiPHer wrote:

I agree...BUT the flip side is that in the US were starting to see a renaissance of "regional music" IMO.Lady J wrote:The Americanization of the world radio and stuff is not in my opinion a good thing but it makes for one stop shopping when distributing music.
Look at Boom Bip and Rjd2...both from the midwest, both doing this really organic electronic/hip hop/folksy kinda stuff. Look at hollertronix, baltimore club music.....not to mention the mainstream stuff like dirty south.
