these are all with the analog stuff i'm building btw. i wish xhip could do stuff like this.. unfortunately cpu power is still a limit for these timbres. well, if i go into business building the stuff i guess it's actually fortunately

My StormGate3 (hope to release it on Monday) is capable of splitting the signal in 2 or 3 bands with a decent ~24db/oct slope crossover.disturb wrote: about that "special filter which spits out several bands", i'm not sure i got that right, but could you implement it to split a signal over several outputs ?
I know a lot of people around here (myself included) have been waiting for a plugin to do that kinda thing, i didn't quite understand if the bands should be added back together internally or not though...?
However, when you mix the bands (internal or external mixer does not matter) the result is dependent on what you use to process the bands -- if a delay is introduced on a band or the phase gets messed up somehow you may hear holes or emphasis near the crossover frequencies.

Would it be possible to release just the bandsplitters, in the form of one vst with 3 outputs or something? I'd love to make my own multiband distortions, reverbs and delays, with the plugins i prefer.

http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/fourband.dll
this is one i made quite a long time ago. i'll improve it later with adjustable band positions and so on.
http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/minimix.dll
this goes with it, the eq isnt implemented though. the eq uses the same method as the multi-band thing, only you can scale the amplitude of each band. the max cut/gain of each band depends upon the slope of the bands and the distance between them. with eight bands, 6db/o, you get a practical range of +-12db. for these three i might manage +-24db as with usual mini-eq stages on guitar amps and others. the eq is probably going to be a lowpass at 500hz, a band at 1k, and a highpass at 5k though. having low/band/high all at 1k wont sound that great.
obviously you can get a really quick 4 band eq if you combine these.

Downloaded and opened in eXT1.4.1., played the same synth note I'd played before routing to fourband and minimix. Had to stop only to say
.
Thank you! Now, back to it knowing that many, many plugins have just been replaced by this routing alternative.
Must play now.

in ext 1 and 2 , i don't get any param values (no frequency display etc), just a blank fader box...?aciddose wrote:http://xhip.cjb.net/temp/public/fourband.dll

Seems to work pretty well already though, looking forward to the newer versions.

it is actually good if you are unable to use xhip in projects or make your own patches, since if you would read the site you'll see it is currently in an alpha phase. the next beta will be released following the plan here http://xhip.cjb.net/xhip/todo/
more info about the analog clips:
http://xhip.cjb.net/analog/
i just created that page to keep this thread clear of any more than the mp3s. we could create a new thread in the hardware section if anybody wants to discuss this further. i want you to all know that at this stage i'm really just testing the waters though, no promises here!
when i said willing, i think i've thought of the right word: warping themselves inside-out

I'm aware that most users seem to prefer dark colors, so I already changed the design to a (still temporary) dark scheme._starcraft_ wrote:btw i really hate it....the white is way too flash ...it kills my eyes.

We are waiting for the developer to lock the patch format.Jono-60 wrote:Has anyone created any banks for Xhip yet? I suck at sound design so I find it really hard to use xhip, but it has a grreat sound and I would like to implement it more.
