they never made a 'fake summer release' announcement.audioird wrote:I saw this on their Facebook :
Dear bitwig team,
I do not expect bitwig studio to be more serious than their authors.
Thank you for not releasing your software in summer as you said.
It would have been a waste of money.
That's so true. What do you expect from them after that fake summer release announce ...
I'll give it a try if its ever released but probably won't buy it.
Some guy at a trade expo tried to pry a release date out of Dom, and he reluctantly said he hoped for sometime during the {late?} summer. In the rest of the 'interview' he goes to great lengths not to make certain promises or guarantees. So even if one has trouble understanding the word 'hope', one should at least have no trouble in the context of his many pained disclaimers. In other youtubed videos of the same nature with other members of team Bitwig, they toe'd the same line when pressed.
Anyone who would take such information as gospel, extracted in such a way and in the context of many disclaimers, from camera-phone footage, and then repeat it on the internet as plain fact is a Grade 1+++ moron.
Also;; The guy you quoted from facebook seems to be suffering from fallacious thinking.
On the contrary, I find Bitwig to be serious when I take the whole nano-second it requires to consider they are not rushing the product out. It's also no coincidence that one of the key Bitwig team members, Dom, was head of Ableton support for many many years. He knows, as I'm sure the rest of the {ex-Ableton} Bitwig team do, what the support consequences are when releasing the software prematurely. Something Ableton are now infamous for doing amongst power users, or at least those who've been on the Ableton wagon for years and early-adopted at least once since V5.
Please place the above post in your proverbial pipe and smoke it.
