if I shutdown the o1x it is fine

I have to end the script in task manager, it gets totally locked out and the script freezes.

the 01x has lots of midi ports, maybe there is some conflict there ?

Can you still access the script, or do you have to shut down the process (task manager) ?

Looks like you have a loop somewhere.
Are you connecting the EZ thru the 01x ?
Check also the MIDI routing in your host.

In my app, modify the first preset that is loaded on start and save it. If Lock MIDI ports is checked (on by default), all other presets will use the same ports.
So, first check the script, then your host and try to connect the ox1 again.

thanks, will check later and report back

thanks for your help :)

Just for the record: My chain looks like this: EZ-AG -> Behringer FCB1010 -> Behringer BCR2000 -> USB-Port of the PC.
All,

I know that animaterie and Marc (and possibly others) use the Behringer FCB-1010 as a floor controller. I'm trying to architect a rig similar to antimaterie's (described above), except with a Korg Kontrol49 in place of the BCR2000:

Yamaha EZ-AG MIDI OUT ->
MIDI IN Behringer FCB-1010 (UnO 1.0.2b) MIDI OUT->
MIDI IN Korg Kontrol49 USB ->
laptop running Yamaha EZ scripts and Reason 3.0

Here's my situation: I'm building a rig from the ground up. And I need a keyboard - although I'll mostly be using the EZ as a controller. I'd like expression via both pedal (FCB) and pots and faders... and, on that front, the Kontrol49 has amazing native support (text on LCD scribble strips) with Reason 3.0 that the BCR2000 doesn't have. Also, the Kontrol49 comes with low-end versions and Ableton Live and SampleTank that I'd like to check out.

My questions for you all are:
1) For the FCB users: are you using Behringer (stock) or UnO EPROM's? Supposedly even the latest Behringer EPROM version (2.5.1) has a merge bug, which would affect the above architecture. I'm not totally averse to using a patchbay, but I'm a total newbie, so I'm trying to keep things simple 8) .
2) For the FCB users: The UnO 1.0.2b EPROM provides the capability to "Send sysex instead of CC or PC added". Does anyone use this, or have any recommendations? [learning more about MIDI is on my... very long... to-learn list 8) ]
3) What do you folks think of the above architecture? E.g., will I be able to control Reason instruments via EZ, FCB, and the Kontrol49's knobs/faders/pads/X-Y? I know that antimaterie has some merge problems in his post that I've referenced above, but that these were resolved in later posts. My heads spins a little bit when I read those posts, but I will study them deeply once I my AG is delivered... but I would be so thankful if any of you could comment on my ideas above. I just need some help getting started, so I can join your tre cool EZ community :D

Yes, I ordered my AG from amazon a couple of nights ago, and I'm totally psyched 8) . I'm a newbie and have been reading lots of forums and magazines to get rig ideas. I would love your help to bring me closer to my next purchase.

Btw, Marc and Markleford: you rock!! You're the greatest!! :) :!: I can't thank you enough for everything you've done . Yamaha and the EZ community are indebted to you. Yamaha should hire you two and Harvey Starr as consultants to rock the marketplace.

Cheers,

I tested again, the problem was the scripts seem to take a long time to load on the 01x, this may be down to it having so many midi ports.

:)

Post

dudestar_99, if you are using the scripts it's not a very good idea to send everything to it. Actually my keyboards, the ez and the fcb1010 all get directly connected to a MIDI box, and each shows up with a different port. Then I will do the routing in the host, thought I send the fcb to the script as I can use it to do different tasks in the script.
Also chaining instruments this way can add unwanted latency.

topaz, this is a bit weird, how many ports do you have ? 200 ?

The 01x has maybe 20 virtual midi ports, but only 2 physical ports.

im not saying thats why the scipts take so long to load, just an idea.

thanks :)

Well there is one, kind of .. ;)

Mr Markleford
I've been using your scripts for the EZ-AG with a volume foot pedal and they are working very well. I have a question :
Do you have an MFX for converting "CC to velocity level"? It would make tapping the fretboard while using a pedal much more expressive.
I see you have a "velocity to CC MFX for GPO.

You guys have done a wonderful job bringing the Yamaha EZ to life!
many thanks

Once the script is loaded is everything ok ? Or do you have slowdowns ?
