All the Alchemy 2 threads on the Camel Audio section are gone (at least the latest ones)... So, apparently there is no interest into releasing it anymore I guess... Yes, this smells like an Apple takeover. Eff it.

Really? Thought i read they just wanted to hire him, after rejecting him first.

Funnily enough, if its a company who want the skills/technology (rather than the product) I'd personally suspect its more likely to be someone like Ableton or BW. Camel's speciality is resynthesis, pretty handy in the time-stretched-clip arena.

iZotope could also very well be a candidate, since they have a synthesizer (Iris) dealing with spectra, and really could use some extra skills in the synthesis field.

I think the Camel team have significant security skills, which may be of far greater value
to a waddling giant like apple, than the Alchemy itself.

Yes, I can see music software company having deep interest in Camel Audio's technology, but Apple? They now seem to consider Logic as a sort of Garageband Pro.

In any case it seems to me that Alchemy 2 is the star in this story, that's why I think of NI.

I'm not sure of the details, but I think they wanted Zebra too.

I always suspected that Biomechanoid was in fact Liam Neeson.

Or, perhaps, there is interest in releasing it under a different company name and thus not wanting it associated with CA?

I wonder if we'll get an announcement at Winter NAMM or at Summer NAMM (2 days after the CA website is deactivated).

Even if the GarageBand Pro label is accurate, why does that make their interest in Camel any the less? While we're all throwing wild hunches around, I can see Apple being more interested in the iOS side of things.

NI on the other hand I really can't see. They're not exactly short of synth heads there. And NI's style has been to collaborate and distribute, not consume.
