There was an update for Analog Lab 4 waiting for me in ASC, but it didn't add those new instruments.
Okay, what's the new version? Has it been bumped up to 5.0?

I am actually more concerned about some issues with Analog Lab and KeyLab in general and the support had recently mentioned one of those would be fixed in the next major update.

I think they will add the new instrument presets in a minor update later, as always. Also, guess NKS won't be available on release for the new instruments.

i see something in the release notes of analog lab, not properly recalling presets of CS-80. a bit strange. why do mention this? (i do not use or have installed analog lab)
because this happens with a lot of the arturia synths, when you change parameters (via an MCU or nektar etc, via direct parameter control, via cubase).. o well... more hoping on a bugfix than upgrade.

indeed upgrade available, no info yet. €149, yes i have also OB-Xa (and i am on 7).

Have they changed something recently? I though the upgrade price was always the same regardless of which V-Collection version you're at

Yes, it seems from last version is 100€/$ less now. (Which is only fair for loyal customers)
Haha, I got into marketing speech. For "not the lastest" version (eg. V6 and older) it's 100€/$ more now :)
As it has been also 199€/$ 2 years ago from V6->V7 if I remember right.

Yeah, they should have reduced the price of upgrades from the latest version, rather than increase the price for everyone else...You can usually get the full version of V-Collection for €249 every Black Friday, so €299 for the upgrade is really steep.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Yes, screw them at those prices

They now removed the "4" but I also saw it being there earlier.
It makes me wonder if they might have done something about the aliasing in the Jupiter emulation, which is the one which suffers the absolute most in the entire collection (the second one is the Prophet VS).

They're still updating the website it seems. References to V Collection 8 and the new instruments keep popping up and disappearing at various places.

The Jupiter 8 and Prophet are some of the oldest emulations in the pack, and have only received GUI updates and minor improvements over the years. A modernization of the underlying DSP code would indeed be very welcome.

Agreed, it's quite steep. Guess I have to wait for sales

Call me stupid: with 3 new instruments (Emu, Juno, Vocoder) it's 50€ per instrument for me which results in 149€. I'm sorry I got that wrong earlier :)
I'm still not buying I guess, since the instruments are not that interesting for me.

Yup. Several instruments in the V-Collection are incredibly old, and hold-up incredibly well as far as I'm concerned.

Some time ago I went and checked the whole list of press release articles since Arturia's birth to get an idea on product release dates.

2003: Modular and CS-80
2004: minimoog
2005: ARP2600
2006: Prophet
2007: Jupiter

All of the above listed instruments are currently in their V3 iteration (although it could easily mean different things for each instruments), but I find it interesting that only the Jupiter and Prophet (in VS mode) have "critical" issues with aliasing when playing in the upper register.
The previously released instruments (2003-2005) currently deal with aliasing surprisingly well, so I hope the Jupiter and Prophet VS emulations will eventually get the same treatment.

Back to the VC8 discussion...
I personally adore all the additions to VC7 (including the B-3 V2 update), but looking at the ones listed in VC8, I feel pretty well covered for those kind of sounds, and already having a painfully long list of things to buy, I think I'll just wait to see what's up in VC9.

And I just noticed that besides Jup-8 going V4, there's also Stage-73 going V2.
I actually really liked the Stage-73 V1 already...

Post

synthi just got updated

nice gui additions

Post

Stage 73 v2 is significantly better - much more responsive and playable.

I am currently receiving updates for the VC7 instruments. And Pigments as well. It started off pretty fast but now downloads are slowing down. I guess we are all updating at the same time. :D

Will we still get updates for VC7 once VC8 is out?

It's online now: https://www.arturia.com/products/analog ... verview#en

well, some links are still broken

Time to start a V8 thread?
