I don't think stuff like Southern, Touch&Go, Matador etc qualify as "Major"

So it's only Sony, then? ;)

And how about major labels from the past?

Personally, I'm considering voting from the perspective of someone building a label: my top ten will be the track listing from a label sampler. :D

odavy - I Can Hear Her:

Here is an example of an amazing wave of originality lately. Great use of guitar and vox.
I would have liked to hear more lyrics, but in a way, it has a minimal feel that I like. It does kinda sound like maybe it's the end of a larger song, but it's cool and I like the variations of the percs and harmonies.
Ta muchly old bean. In keeping with the commercialistic attitude of 'give the kids what they want' I just found a phrase and repeated it shamelessly (I want that record deal...)

Hey, it worked for Shania Twain (or Sheryl Crow, I always get them confused). Whoever it was that did "I'm Gonna Getcha" - that song really is the same 16 bar phrase repeated eleven times. No chorus, nothing. Ah well...
"Have you been living under a rock bro?
Guys with puppets get CHICKS!"

See what you get with no cable TV and never listening to radio? :D

I'm afraid there's a problem with the link.

Thanks, xander!

Shania Twain - irritating country style singer.

Sheryl Crow - irritating country style singer.

Both irritate me for their songs rather than the style of their songs. The aforementioned I'm Gonna Getcha is shocking in its repetition, and Sheryl Crow did 'If It Makes You Happy', which is a song whose verse and chorus unashamedly bear no resemblance to one another. Gets my musical goat, somewhat. In my day etc.

www.audioshots.com/auditorium is where I put mine. Just make sure to post a direct download rather than a link to the post at the auditorium. The KVR competition is the only time the make the "no direct link" rule.
