Really? I don't see any shop or buy button on their site. The latest news item is from June '06.

EDIT: Oh I see it now. You have to download the demo and then purchase through it.........didn't see the fine print....

From the site:

"Licenses may be purchased for the sum of $1,000.00 USD"

The demo has a splash screen giving you the choice to either continue evaluating, or purchase/activate.

See my edit above. You really paid $1000 for this?

Damn it, those guys could at least update their page, I just wasted precious 10 minutes of my life searching for that fantastic PLParEQ1 freebie...

I think you edited after I hit the reply button.

Yep. That's how much it costs. That's how much I paid.

Now if I could only activate the darned thing. :?

Wow. So you'll have to master more than seven 10 track albums on CD just to recover the cost of this one plugin? Business must be good. Wonder how much that works out to per hour. I'm curious why you couldn't find a lower cost alternative with all the EQ's created over the last four of five years but I don't think we should keep bumping this 5 year old thread. Enjoy the EQ, hope you get your activation problems worked out.

I don't what is more stunning to me. Somebody selling an EQ Plugin for 1000 Dollars or somebody buying it.
wow. Don't know what to say.

Ochre, are ypou sure that pays out ?
According to your site, you only charge 12 Pounds for mastering a song.

no pun intended, though. It just amazes me.

Indeed, you must've been really shocked to feel the need to pore over my site. Actually it's more 4-5 albums to cover it, which is about three weeks' work. Not exactly an astronomical investment for a tool central to my work.

I don't see a problem bumping a thread so long as it's relevant. I'm sure I'd have people nagging me for not bumping a thread. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

404 pun not found. I'm stunned by the condescension I'm receiving, to be honest. I wouldn't have bought the thing if I could find alternatives that sounded as good at a cheaper price point, honestly -- I don't enjoy wasting money.

Send him an email. He's extremely responsive!

What?

Yep -- fired-off an email as soon as I had troubles. Though it's still early in Tucson, so I'll give him a few hours. :)

EDIT: All sorted -- David's sent me the latest version, which doesn't require the online activation.

You can't really compare a good linear phase EQ to the "regular" cheap or free EQs that you see around. It's in a different league in terms of sound.
The PEQ Red VST from Algorithmix is even more expensive than this one.

$1k might seem a lot to a hobbyist, but to a professional mastering house it's nothing and a good investment if it saves them some time and effort compared to an equivalent hardware EQ.

Freeware is just as good.
