For people who's production will never really sell that many copies, or for hobbyists making music, you don't need a virus....any of the shittier software type vsts should do all you need. But if you have a lot of money to blow, I'm SURE you'll never feel "ripped off" when you spend your hard earned cash on a Virus and bring it home. You'll really feel like you spent on something EXCELLENT.
With software, specially, cheap-grade vsts, you feel like you "scored!" but it's more of a "save-money-like-a-chinese-old-lady" kind of feeling. It more like you feel good cause you just ripped off some broke ass programmer, and bought him dinner.
IT's like the difference you get when you spend your hard earned dollars on a nice loft in New York with a dope ass view of the city and you look at that view, which costs a lot. To me, it's worth it, I'll pay the money to scratch my nuts and look at something beautiful.
I'd rather not settle for a cheap-ass studio in the slums even though it does the same thing and "I don't need all of that."
Do you finally get it? Good! Now go and live REAL LIFE and GET OFF THE INTERNET YOU NERD!

Before my wife and I got married in Hawaii, I was going to purpose to her with a beautiful ring. But then I thought, "omg! that's more expensive as a VIRUS!"
So I bought her a cheap fake diamond ring and said "it does the same thing, it has the same features, and it costs a lot less. You don't need all of that. Diamond companies are just trying to sell you on their product, playing their ring as being BETTER than cheaper rings made by smaller companies."
So instead I bought her 8 cheap fake diamond rings instead of a nice wedding ring.
YEah fucken right.
MY wife has a fat ring and I'm forever glad I paid all my money for it, it was worth every penny. I would never f**king replace that thing for a bunch of cheap imitations. f**k you to all who are trying to make this earth more and more cheaply.
Life is a race to the bottom.

It sounds like, as with a lot of your posts, that you are trying to discourage people, as well as looking down on them. You, of course, have the right to your own opinion, on everything, but i don't really see the point in coming here just to prove you're somehow 'better' than everyone else. We all have to start somewhere, and unless you're pretty much from a privileged upbringing, the bottom is exactly where that starting point is.frequency_algorithm wrote:For people who's production will never really sell that many copies, or for hobbyists making music, you don't need a virus....any of the shittier software type vsts should do all you need. You can make one Virus sound identical to another Virus?

I don't understand how you can sit there with nice clean clothes in your closet, at a computer which could feed a whole town in africa and say you are "starting out at the bottom." You are a rich computer user and you are not from the Favellas in Brazil. Why are you acting like you need to save so much money? Have you ever calculated the cost of your life spending?
WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SO IGNORANT?

I'd have assumed buying cheap VST's, as opposed to nothing, would slow your descent. think about it logically, either you choose a starting point to move forward, or stay exactly where you are. You might move forward a lot faster if you have a cash cow somewhere to carry you along, but not everyone has.frequency_algorithm wrote:Reverse Engineer wrote:It sounds like, as with a lot of your posts, that you are trying to discourage people, as well as looking down on them. bump. The Chase wrote:Oh balls. I could do the same, making a patch with Xhip, and asking you to create a similar result that cuts it. It would be the same phenomenon.OffTopic wrote:As always: all sorts of people have claimed once more that certain VSTs could easily reproduce the Virus sound. Without actually proving it.
It's like asking a professionally trained artist of 20 years to duplicate a scribble drawing done by a toddler - he wouldn't be able to make it nearly the same, but that doesn't mean the toddler was a better artist, does it? Even the great artist couldn't perfectly duplicate one of his own pieces.
Would you really be willing to put your money where your mouth is? If I made something with xhip, something simple and generic as a trance lead and maybe a simple pad to accompany it, would you try to duplicate it with your big-dicked virus?
