I will need feedback from the community how this could be added the most logical way.
I do not know about the practical implementation, but as a basis (to expand the range harmony), I would certainly take "The Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization" George Russell
Thank you, lulukom, I am already reading it, great book!

Dewdman42 wrote:Again, respectfully request you allow us to send Program Change. On OSX there is a free GM plugin included with OSX that can play multi timbral GM soundfonts. its very useful and free with OSX. But it does not provide any way to supply presets with sounds setup on all 16 channels.
Hi Dewdman42,

this feature was added today. If you'd like to use/test it, I'll upload the latest demo version for OS X, just let me know.

Thanks,
Attila

would really great if we have stop option on Generator's Preview (for example middle click to Preview button to stop)

edit: there was goodman's request already so +1
Yes, this was also fixed today. What's more, I added a new preview button which lets you listen to the generated phrase with all other (unmuted) tracks, just like you would hear it in the composition. This was also suggested on this forum. A new beta version will arrive in 1 or 2 days.

Thanks for all those great suggestions! :tu:

dark-i wrote:Hi Attila, I was generating an 8 bar melody and a few times there were parts, like the end and the middle, that really suited the track I was working on, I was wondering if it could be possible to have an option to lock these notes while generating more phrases and keeping those notes in place.

Cheers D
Hi Daire,

I know what you mean, but I can't add locking notes without making things even more complicated. At the moment you can split the melody phrase where you think it is usable. Please note that this will convert it to an ordinary phrase, so you'll need to add new melody generators to the empty spaces.

Cheers,
Attila

v2.9b14 is available with mostly bug fixes and improved phrase generator preview

Changes:
  • phrase generator preview can be stopped
  • new phrase generator preview button to play back all other tracks with the phrase
  • [VST] it is possible to send program change to the VST host in VST mode
  • fixed: adding new scales and chord into the library did not work
  • fixed: MIDI clock was not sent in MIDI-only playback mode
  • fixed: phrase editor preview when the preview instrument was a MIDI device
  • fixed: a MIDI device/port chosen in the track inspector was not set up correctly
  • fixed sync issues when using RC standalone with Ableton Live
  • other small bug fixes

Hi Attila,
Yea I understand,
I tried a few things to get it and came up with, creating a 2nd track and copying the cut part into it while still generating phrases in the first track, then duplicated the vst in cubase and with some muting automation and midi routing I was able to get what I was looking for, but it's a long way of doing it, so I'll probably just use the editor to tweek the melodies.

I was getting more joy from the manual editor and was wondering about more options in this,

I was creating a melody with 8 bars so it was hard to keep track of the rhythm editor in relation to the piano roll and was wondering, could you add a different color line every bar in the rhythm editor just to help see it better,

Could it be possible to add an false note if I wanted the melody to stop playing for a beat or 2,

Could it be possible to add the direction you want a note go in relation to the one before, eg I start the melody on the tonic and the next note I want to go up,
and could that work like when I change the rhythm, it automatically changes the note in the melody and I can click "apply to section" and it just makes that one change

Just a few ideas as I seem to be getting a lot closer to the melodies I like using the manual editing,

Cheers D

Hello Attila!
Please do this kind of thing:
For example I have a timeline 1.1-3.1, but I need a timeline 3.1-5.1
Control + Shift and drad-and-drop timeline from 1.1-3.1 to 3.1-5.1.
It would be very convenient not to paint again, but the drag !
Thank you!
Sincerely lulukom

Hello everyone!
Maybe someone will tell me how best to do the following:
I did some Projects and save them as a composition (no other save options) but then decided that many of them are successful and it would be good to merge them into a single song!
Maybe someone has a suggestions: how is it possible to do better? Thank you!

I really like the changes that have been made to the Phrase Editor in recent beta releases. :tu: I came up with another idea for a feature request.

Along the lines of the "Add to Clipboard" feature that was added in a previous beta, how about adding a new operation to the note selection pop-up menu to support creating a new phrase from just the selected notes and adding it to the clipboard:

Hi Tony,

thanks for the mock-up screenshots! This was implemented today. I think a new beta version will be uploaded soon, because the articulation menu is working well now.

Thanks!

Thank you for adding that new feature, Attila! :tu:

Of course, I have another feature request related to Note Transformations with the Note Inspector/Phrase Editor.

I would like the ability to change the start times and/or duration of selected notes by a specified multiplier. For example, 2x to double the start times and/or duration, 3x to triple the start times and/or duration, 1/2x to shorten the start times and/or duration by 50%, 1/3x to shorten the start times and/or duration by 33.3%:

Here is a mockup of how it might look in the Note Inspector dialog window:

There may be a couple of ways already to accomplish this functionality in RC's Phrase Editor, but no other manner I found worked quickly or completely to alter an existing selection of notes either by a single click-drag or by a single click of a button.
