Answering my own question... I guess not. Jup-8 and Stage-73 did not get updates in VC7.

That makes sense, otherwise there would be no incentive to keep upgrading.mountainmaster wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:19 pmAnswering my own question... I guess not. Jup-8 and Stage-73 did not get updates in VC7.![]()
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

It’s a departure from what they’ve done before. When v7 came with an update to the B3 organ to v2 those of us only with v6 or earlier all got it too.Sequent wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:21 pmThat makes sense, otherwise that would be no incentive to keep upgrading.mountainmaster wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:19 pmAnswering my own question... Is that a spatial position pan effect?Niowiad wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:31 pm The "voices dispersion" thing they added on the Jup-8 V4 is something I wish every emulation had.

The one I'm seeing in Jup-8 V4 product page is about simulating different voicecards, by selectively "spreading" the values of some key parameters like pitch/tuning, cutoff points, resonance values, envelope timings, etc...WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:34 pmIs that a spatial position pan effect?Niowiad wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:31 pm The "voices dispersion" thing they added on the Jup-8 V4 is something I wish every emulation had.
Something I would really like on other polysynths of the V-Collection, and analog emulations from other companies in general (if they're not already simulating/implementing it in some other way).
Synths like Obsession let you tweak every single parameter for every voicecards, but I'm personally more than fine with a single knob to randomly spread those key values among all voices, like the one I'm seeing in Jup-8 V4. Diva also has something similar.

Ah yes, familiar with that in Diva and can also tweak voices in OPX Pro II.

A lot of synths randomize the pitch of the oscillators slightly, at least. Some don't however. I was a bit disappointed to find the Arturia OB-Xa behaves like a DCO synth. If you play two C notes an octave apart, the oscillators phase-lock.Niowiad wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:41 pmThe one I'm seeing in Jup-8 V4 product page is about simulating different voicecards, by selectively "spreading" the values of some key parameters like pitch/tuning, cutoff points, resonance values, envelope timings, etc...WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:34 pmIs that a spatial position pan effect?Niowiad wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:31 pm The "voices dispersion" thing they added on the Jup-8 V4 is something I wish every emulation had.

Spreading other values isn't as crucial, IMO. You can get a similar effect by applying a small amount of keyboard filter tracking and/or modulating the filter cutoff or envelope amount by velocity (for now at least, humans are analog, and always hit the keys at a slightly different velocity).

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I got to say this and new pricing policy is a big let down for me and not very Arturia likeSequent wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:21 pm It’s a departure from what they’ve done before. When v7 came with an update to the B3 organ to v2 those of us only with v6 or earlier all got it too.

While I too wish the upgrade price was lower, I have to admit that Arturia has really been bringing it in these most recent versions of the V-collection. They've really taken it to the next level.

Yes there are ways to work around it.AdvancedFollower wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 5:03 pmA lot of synths randomize the pitch of the oscillators slightly, at least. Some don't however. To me personally, the way I'm seeing it implemented in Jup-8 V4 (or Diva, or OP-X) represent the best solution without going too much in depth with control on the individual voicecards.
And makes me hope they'll add it as a solution to their other synths in the future.
The OB-Xa V has something like that, only applied to tuning/pitch which can be spread among voices (the DETUNE parameter, not present in the hardware unit), I've played with the demo quite a lot and I would almost never have that parameter lower than 20-30% on poly patches.

And yet... I am now at my studio computer and I'm happy to say that the majority of my V Collection 7 synths DID get updated. This makes me feel much better because it means that they haven't changed their previous policy. It also makes me feel better about moving ahead with upgrading to V Collection 8.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 4:24 pmIt’s a departure from what they’ve done before. The ongoing confusion and the messy roll out also makes me think that perhaps we have jumped the gun a bit on this process. As a user I still have not received official notification of the new Collection and specifics about pricing, etc. I hope that they do not expect us to constantly log into our account just to see if there is a special offer. Or they should maybe also include this information somewhere in the ASC, e.g. "My Offers", "New Version Available", etc., with expiration dates for the offers.
