Just installed the new version of the beta and this version seemed to delete my variation presets.

Just installed the new version of the beta and this is all about the guitar features of this upcoming release.

In the past I used variations to make a track more compatible with guitar. This is what the guitar variation looks like:

I can since longer time not show browsers in phrase editor. have other this problem too or know how can show browser ?. i think it is important to see browsers also in phrase editor to add cc from cc browser too. see screenshot. the symbol for browser is avtive but there are show no browser

One issue with the new NF is when you duplicate a part/line with the structure browser is, it duplicates the duplicates on the forwarded tracks. Looks like when you duplicate the track, the forwarding is reapplied a second time maybe.

Yes, you are right, these phrases must be handled in a special way.
I have fixed this now.
The only way to 'detach' them is "render phrase with variations...".

OMG! Please check the following folder, you should see the preset files (on Windows) :
C:\Users\Public\Documents\RapidComposerV5\VariationPresets

Are you sure you did not click on the small 'heart' button under Note Forwarding and not Variations?
My presets are still there, and I can add and remove variation and note forwarding presets.
I checked the source code, it should not delete any presets.

Please let me know.

Hi magicmusic,

the browsers were never shown in the Phrase Editor. This is by design. It would be distracting, most people would hide the browsers immediately when they open the Phrase Editor.
You are right that in order to insert a CC curve from the browser, you need to select it first on the Composition page. Maybe a pop-up menu could be added for this purpose.

RapidComposer v5.3b8 is available!

Bugs reported in the last 24 hours have been fixed.

Changes:

• Fingerpicking generator improvement: enter string pattern. Strings are 6 (lowest) to 1 (highest): use space to separate the events, you can use multiple strings at once: e.g. 6 53 4 21
• Fixed: forwarded phrases are removed when the source track is removed
• Handling circular dependency for note forwarding A->B, B->A
• Fixed: muted state was not saved for forwarding rules
• Ghost tracks are not offered for note forwarding
• Fixed multiple appearance of the forwarded phrase for various operations (duplicating/inserting/removing time)

Yeah, that works. I have F9 assigned to that now.

The suggestion is just an extra convenience - if "on the mouse" is where the hand is after right-clicking on the MT, then not having to move the hand (or deploy the other hand) would be ideal, IMO. It's a small workflow improvement that would have repeated savings. If it's actually hard to implement, or has some other complication, it can be lived without.

see the browser in phrase editor is also usefull to see the content of the phrase more precise. so you can select a phrase look and hear preview in phrase editor and can paste or replace old phrase. today more and more get 2540x1600 display or 4 k . so space is no problem in phrase editor. because the button to enable disable is show, so it can many also get working ? .

Addon: generators can be hide in phrae editor in browser if you like that more

This is for B8. When I select a fingering that is not possible (really?) RC gets lost and doesn't let me choose another fingering in the previous dialogue.

When I have a kind large project with many VST instruments loaded and then I load another large project, RC doesn't load the VST instruments correctly. In fact some times not at all. You have to quit RC in between projects to work correctly.

My guess is, the loading and unloading are threaded. You need to wait for the unload just a bit longer, or, what I do is, fire a call back flagging it finished.

I think there is a problem in midi-routing in the beta 7. I can't route from RC to itself via the same Loopmidi port. This wasn't a problem in the beta 6.

In this video I show the new Guitar View and note forwarding. I kind of explain why you may get errors in the Guitar view, but, you can work around that with the info I provide about it.
