more in a day (I hope  ) (or two if we are not lucky... :x )
Good news Andrew!

BTW I was curious about one thing; I see in Cubase 5.5.1 64-bit that Aether shows as a "32"bit plug even if I have installed the 64-bit version in the right folders(not x86 ones).

Did you saw this in your beta test?

Thanx for all updates and fixes anyhow. I love Aether !

"File copy error: could not find file specified" happened during Win XP VST install. Seems to have done most of the installation alright, though. I'll report back on whether it crippled the plug-in or not.

Update: installation didn't work. After installing and scanning, Aether version 1.5.0 remained.

Thanks for the update, the browser is much better :tu:

I was impressed with the update process of actually 'buying' Aether with a full price discount, quick and simple - great idea!

It gets the job done... :D Pretty simple and painless though I think so long as everyone reads the directions.

I tried a repair and got the same result---failed install.

Be sure no audio host is running when you install. Be sure to do the normal things like disable anti-virus, etc if you experience things that block installer actions.

Another nice feature in 1.5.1: installer logs. Users can email us the installer log and we can see exactly what happened or did not happen so that we can figure it out very quickly...

I have real time firewall monitoring enabled but it has yet to interfere with any kind of installation I've done in the past. There's always a first time though. I did have Tracktion 3 idling in the background (again, I've never had that interfere with plug-in installations before), but I closed it and I'll try again.

Update: looks like closing Tracktion worked. First time that's ever mattered in my experience, but now I know something to try next time I have a problem install. :)

Thank's for the update. The only thing that is a bit annoying is that with every update one has to re-enter the serial no. But that's just a minor issue.

Post

Thanks for the update and the preset selection (!). I get the impression the CPU consumption somewhat higher in 1.5.1 than before even at the lowest quality settings. Has this changed or am I off the mark? I can't compare but it's just an impression.

Post

When I first loaded it I gasped and said "My God, they've gotten the CPU usage WAY down!!!" :o

Then I realized it wasn't processing any audio because I hadn't put in my serial number yet. :(

Oh dear....not seeing any user presets now.

Please don't tell me the new install overwrote that folder and they are all gone...

Edit---possibly disregard this statement: Hmmmm...I'm afraid I have bad news for anyone who didn't back up their user preset folder in Program Files\2CAudio: you will be starting over again from scratch (assuming that's where you stored your user presets, as I did).

Unless I'm missing something...

Forgive my stupidity if this kind of overwrite is always the case when updating plug-ins. I've usually been in the habit of saving my presets inside to host or as fxp's so I didn't give it any thought.

Oh wait....I UNINSTALLED Aether after I had that initial problem with installation. I wonder if that did it. :-o

Oh well, I still have my settings saved in all my projects.

I get "installation failed" with 1.51 on both my desktop and laptop running 10.6.4

No audio hosts were open at all during install. Where can I find the logs?

Post

Not 1.5.1 related topic and ........

I'm sure I did miss something ( or made something wrong ??? )

I recently installed Aether on a second computer ( Version 1.0 as 1.5 did crash on my precedent computer ) and ........

Everytime I open Aether ( or opened a project including some instances of it) :

It claims for the serial !!!! When I give him my serial it's working again, but have lost all the projects settings.

Sooo did anyone experienced this too ? Should I need something special to install Aether on a second computer ? And if I do need something, where can I get this ? Should I install the 1.5.1 patch to fix this ?

Any info/help would be very appreciable :)
