I have a question, when using the Ez-Ag as a MIDI controller, do the notes sound when you press the fretboard's buttons, or do you need to hold down the button and pick the string as well? I saw a video of someone playing one at the beginning of this thread, and he's playing it one-handed, does that also apply when used as a MIDI controller? Thanks.

When played directly into a MIDI sound module, pressing down the frets will send a very low velocity Note On message. Depending on the sound in question, you'll probably hear a very soft sound.

If you use one of the script tools, however, you can either filter out these fret-only presses altogether, or you can cause them to be full volume/velocity: I typically play in this mode to allow two-hand tapping style. See the video on my site for a demo.

Still on my to-do list (yes, I have an honest to goodness to-do list!

), but I'm wrapped up in holidays and house-hunting for my impending relocation: off on another trip starting tomorrow through Friday.

You're not forgotten, just de-prioritized.

I eventually get back to everyone, but response time has gotten slow in the past two months.

That said, someone else may already have a solution: it won't hurt my feelings if you use it!

Anybody know how to do a factory reset on an EZ-AG? It doesn't have any of the songs in memory and I can't load any into it. It seems like the memory is gone. Everything else works fine, midi out, midi in. I noticed at the bottom of the MIDI implementation page of the manual it liste under AUX, reset all controls (121), but I tried using MIDIOX, and maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but it didn't seem to do anything.

Any ideas?

Hi, try removing the batteries and leave it off for a while and see if this cures the problem.
But normally, the internal songs should be in ROM.

Hello everyone! I just joined joined this forum because I recently bought a Yamaha EZ-AG and needed info about it. I am using it as a MIDI controller. I have hooked it up to my Yamaha QY70 sequencer/sound module and it works great. However, I tried hooking it up to my MicroKorg synth and then I realised that the Korg only accepts one MIDI channel at a time unlike my QY70. How would I get all 6 strings to transmit on one MIDI channel. Is this possible? I looked at the MIDI implementation chart in the manual and it mentions something on the bottom about Omni Mode. Does this pertain to it? Also I am purchasing a Behringer FCB1010. How could I use this with the EZ-AG? Can anyone help?
