I voted. I used a system similar to figure skating. Everyone starts with 4 pts. There are then deductions for certain features the details of which are kept hidden in a Top Secret file somewhere, possibly with Hillary's email. If I really like it in my gut, there's a 1 pt bonus. The result was very few 1's or 2's, quite a few 3's and 4's and a good number of 5's with an average score of 3.6. A lot of good music was produced. Congrats to all.

I gave a 1pt deduction for improper naming. If you can figure out a new synth in a month, you can surely apply a simple naming convention.Harthstein wrote:+1fese wrote:Voted.
I also vote for two new rules:
1. download files have to be in "artist - song" file name format.
2. track length must not exceed 6 minutes
Didn't have that much time left for voting this month and fifty-five entries, some of them rather long, are a lot and I had to do some quick and dirty instinct voting which maybe doesn't do all tracks justice....
As for length, it seems that longer tracks are common in electronic music. However, I may not like it so - no bonus point.
I like to keep the rules to a minimum in all things.

Voted. I have to say, this month was even more difficult than last. So many fantastic songs, I gave a quite a few more 5s than I did last month. Great work everyone!

Yeah, I planned to deduct pts for improper naming, but forgot...JWHanberry wrote:I gave a 1pt deduction for improper naming. If you can figure out a new synth in a month, you can surely apply a simple naming convention.Harthstein wrote:+1fese wrote:Voted.

Of course you are right about keeping rules to a minimum, i simply can chose not to listen to the whole track...

Okay, voted. So many good tracks this month, will have to scheme the voting accordingly, so I had to give out a lot of threes where they would easily be fours in other contests, and some fours would easily be 5's, etc. Very tough round indeed

LOL, every month too much pontification about the voting system. Its all in the name of fun, don't sweat the small stuff.
Why would someone be penalized for not naming their track "right"? Is that a rule? I know I was asked to switch name/title once, no big deal.
Are you guys wanting people to label their tracks with meta-data? So when you download the name/title is there? Why download at all? Soundcloud stream all day.
A bunch of creative types, I'm surprised there isn't a dozen DQ's every month for not following the rules. C'mon guys, this is so not serious, and if it becomes too serious, count me out.
