it seems a lot of vsti dev's want to mimick the instruments that allready exist, eg, tons of 303 emulations both free and payware, nebula is a great example of trying to mimick stuff, ( or sampling the way it sounds ) whatever....
I am not saying this is a good or bad thing. But I really like how Vaz Modular, although i do not own it, and Virsyn, ( have Tera ) try and just be themselves... You can see it in Zebra, and Voxengo, and and Blue Cat...
I think we are much better off with Dev's trying to push the limit of software, and just be themselves......
the point has been proven, for whatever reasons and I do not know why, software synths can vary in sound from one to the next just like hardware... At the end of the day, most hardware is becoming a chip, and a program in a plastic box..... ( I realize that this is not true for all hardware ) We are so much better off if dev's continue to push the limit and be unique...
Besides, and I say this in all virus threads.... Do we really need a virus on every electronica song by every producer..... Alas I will never buy a virus... I have really been looking deep into the software now, and it just seems like a few dev's are really pushing the limits with what you can do..... Can you imagine version Five of of some of the stuff that is coming out now...
when its upated with whatever archectecture is devoloped next year.....
