not sure what kind of services you mean by that, but there's plenty you could use this for - dropbox, google drive, onedrive, mediafire, mega - don't see the problem here
They all have upload limits as far as file size as far as the free services goes. I have dropbox. It won't let me. I despise Google with a passion and wouldn't support them if they sent me money. Amazon will allow me but I have to pay for it. I'm not doing that for a freebie that's going to drain the hell out of my bandwidth with them.

Granular synths and supportive devs seem not to match too well, M-RGT PsyGen is another AWOL case
like the instruments they make, granular developer's lives are split into so many tiny fragments that it is next-to-impossible to get anything coherent out of them :P

Perhaps you would find it useful to post somewhere appropriate, like KVRaudio, and ask for suggestions from people who are already doing something similar.

There are reputable known audio-specific sites which offer hosting/distribution eg rekkerd
Note: If you would like to have your plug-in(s) or samples hosted on rekkerd.org, just drop me a line.
Or perhaps sampleism, where there's plenty of free material hosted alongside the commercial stuff I see a free .WAV format sample set right now there that's 1.3Gb in size.

Unless your 50 samples come to more than 10Gb in size, you might be doing something wrong.

https://www.dropbox.com/help/5
Files uploaded through the website (by clicking the upload button) have a 10 GB limit. In other words, each file you upload through the website must be 10 GB or less.

All files uploaded to your Dropbox must be smaller than the size of your Dropbox account's storage quota. For example, if your account has a storage quota of 2 GB, you can upload one 2 GB file or many files that all add up to 2 GB.

get mega then. EDIT: gives you 50 (!) gb for free. i don't use the other services so often, but i make whole data back ups in mega w/ folders up to numerous gigabytes. the only limitation AFAIK concerns the download bandwidth (from shared content), which is "only " 10 gigabytes as a free user. even if that limit is reached, you don't have to do anything, just wait until the next month and you're fine.

and - please don't get me wrong, i mean this just the way i say it, and by no means offensive or something - nobody asked you to provide your presets anywhere (at least not in this current discussion). even less did anyone ask you to pay for a server or whatever so we could download them. you act as if we're all waiting for you to give us your material, which is simply not the case. i was just trying to point you out some ways to provide them without any hassle if you wished to do so. again, this isn't meant as an accusation, you just seem a little overly sensitive to every comment concerning your presets. :)

There is a bigger issue here that, quite honestly at this point, I'm starting to not care about.

The purpose of giving Tom the 50 presets was to make the synth more desirable to purchase. I was trying to help him with increasing its popularity and sales. Yes, I was hoping for something in return. But nothing substantial. At most, a mention that there were other soundsets people could get if they wanted.

I jumped on this synth because I believed in it. It is still the best granular out there, IMO. I haven't spent this much time on any other granular synth on the market.

That is why I'm frustrated at his lack of communication.

But the point is, if I somehow manage to get these presets hosted somewhere, then there is no reason for him to include them in his product. In fact, I had 50 presets ready for him prior but he rejected them not because they weren't good but because they were included in my library that I was selling. He wanted something that wouldn't appear anywhere else. And I can't say I blame him. This makes the synth itself more attractive to purchase.

With his lack of communication (I emailed him for the last time today) I'm staring to just not care anymore. I've done everything I can possibly do to help him out. I'm simply out of patience.

So I guess since I'm probably not going to hear from him again, I might as well just toss these up somewhere as long as I can do it at no cost. The bandwidth concerns me more than the file size because really, the file size is nowhere near 10 gig so I don't know why dropbox is giving me problems unless I have some kind of limited account because it's free. I just don't know. When it comes to file hosting, I admit, it's not my strongest area. In fact, it would be very easy to rip me off on a file hosting deal because that's how little I know about it. Thus, I am very wary of services that make lots of promises.

Anyway, that's where I am. At this point, it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other.

I've already wasted too much time on this project already.

all right, i see - at least i now have a better overview over the whole situation and can absolutely understand your frustration. in that case i'll keep my fingers crossed for you that tom is eventually gonna get back to you after all! however if not, you now know that there are pretty easy and free ways to publish any material if you want to do so in the future :)

lol... You made some suggestions and helped beta testing and you think you're responsible for the success of the synth.... You have a high opinion of yourself.

and there we have it.

right, well, assuming your presets are actually worth putting in the factory library ... wanting the kind of promotion you are seeking in return, is more or less asking the dev to be professionally associated with you.

lets look at that prospect for a moment... check out The Mangle's website ( http://sound-guru.com/software/mangle/ ). It's crisp, professional, sophisticated, contemporary and most importantly of all - tasteful.

then look at your website ( http://wagsrfm.com/synths/ )- specifically the repository from which you hawk presets, the place you'd be asking him to send his customers .... it's quite simply awful. it is put together with quite literally the least possible amount of human effort one could put in to a web presence.

zerocrossing nailed it.

he'd be mad to associate his product with your webpage.

imo.

So isn't it great that I'm not asking you to do a damn thing with me.

ouch, guys keep it calm ;), im sad that there is little response from the dev. let's wait.
i cannot judge your presets for THE MANGLE wagtunes (are they on the soundcloud page? i am missing nice mangle presets!), but the name "wagtunes" sounds ironic :P, i checked your serum presets some while ago, a massive pack 350 sounds! but what kept me off buying it was the "let's say it nicely" bad sound demo :(
no offense as i dont know u and RESPECT every sound designer (i suck at it!) but you should take down this demo and get some nice catching tune where the notes arent wildly played ;). again NO OFFENSE :P

out of respect and if the dev agreed with your mangle presets then it is not a professional way to NOT respond to you. either he should say "no im not interested" or just respond and tell you when he gets back etc. i dunno if it's worth waiting for him and getting more stress for this! i would think twice about it i i were u and concentrate on better services?

No offense taken. For the record, Serum is my best selling sound library. So maybe if I had taken YOUR advice and done a different kind of demo, it wouldn't have sold as well.

You will never please everybody and I don't try to. I go with what I think is best. I don't try to be like everybody else. I do my own thing. If it's not for you, fine. Others like my sound libraries and demos.

And that's all I care about.

no problem, but some people have some bad music taste i guess when thinking the demo is nice with all those wild played notes not even being musical ;D. guess i shouldnt care next time when i do OSC with careful chosen melodies :D. thanks for the tip!

if you do your own thing and dont care then dont spam this topic full with your soundset not being implemented in Mangle yet please, cause it seems u still care.... i will check back this topic when there are news about the synth itself. enjoy!
