try this one (found it somewhere...)

Code: Select all

Unsigned plugin issues on MAC, use 'terminal'

sudo xattr -cr /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/DSP56300Emu.vst3
sudo xattr -cr /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/DSP56300Emu.vst
sudo xattr -cr /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/DSP56300Emu.component

Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Jun 04, 2022 4:59 am Thanks for the image. It seems to be another problem. Is there also a mod matrix? My LinnStrument sends just cc74, channel pressure, and pitchbend but on varying Midi channels. And its a lot of data and its sent faster than Midi over USB…

I have the Powercore Virus. It would freak out if I used polyphonic aftertouch from any of my controllers - random parameters would jump around all over the place. I don't know if it is the same issue.

The other thing is the virus is multi timbral. Sending MIDI out per channel is unlikely to go well.

Is there a way to make the Linnstrument into a "dumb" controller
Well, Bitwig does that to a certain extend. But it would be great to load the same sound into multiple slots and that way have a fake MPE synth…

One of these workarounds may help. I have the AU working in Logic/Catalina.

Thanks guys. I’ll try them until one works. One quick question. I saw on the FAQ that you’re supposed to put the rom bin in the same folder as the VST, but do you do that for the AU as well?

I haven’t even got to the point to load patches yet. Is it pretty straightforward to dump the sysex data? Like import?

yes
vst, vst3, component...
bin has to be in the same folder

iirc there are a lot of tutorial videos on YT explaining how to dump sysex from a virus

the regular banks A-H are stored in the firmware bin

there are tons of patch-bank-files on the net to be found

good luck

As this is an emulator based on a ROM, you can’t change the basic behavior of it. But you can send the same preset change on every channel and that way it should work…

With the new "Latency (blocks)" set to 0 (to report proper CPU usage), the CPU consumption shown to me has been increased x17.

I'm seeing actual massive cpu consumption with that setting. In both in Bitwig and in Windows task manager, and without being plugged in I get crackles. But on the default setting of 1, I have very low cpu. The difference is I'm seeing 6.9ms reported in the default (whatever the 1 means), and about 17 ms in the 0 mode (report actual cpu usage). I don't know what this means.

I'm having stuck notes issues in the latest release. Don't remember these from previous versions. Anybody else experiencing this?

I used to get practically no crackles on my old 3.6 i7 Mac, but my new M1 Max crackles all the time. Changing the setting to 2 helps significantly, but I assume ARM optimisation is still some way off.

Latest build completely crashes Logic when trying to add a second instance. Load an instance, then create a new track and load it again. Crash. Happens every time.
