Okay, thanks. I assumed so, but just wanted to make sure. Yes, that's definitely a great deal.zzz00m wrote: Tue Apr 26, 2022 4:27 pm $149 is as low as I have seen it.
At any rate, that's about $15 an instrument. Not too bad!

What are your most used Korg Collection 3 synths and what types/genres of music do you use them in?
I know, they are synths and they can be used however one wants, but I want to know and learn from practical/real world examples.

On an M1 MBP Max, either natively or Rosetta under Monterey 12.3.1, running on Cubase 12.0, the v1.4.0 Odyssey's arpeggiator is broken. All slider and switches snap back to their default positions. The arpeggiator can't be adjusted.
The Odyssey's v1.4.0 VST2 version works fine in Cubase 12 under Rosetta. The v1.4.0 .component version works fine in Logic 10.7.4. It has been reported that the VST3 version will work correctly in Studio One. Seems only Cubase 12 has the arpeggiator issue with v1.4.0.

On a number of Macs

it’s the MS20, but the iOs app, because I now have a hardware mini MS20 I like tinkering with patches on the app when I’m out and about which I can then try to recreate in hardware when I’m home. Ambient/electronic nonsense.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:49 am What are your most used Korg Collection 3 synths and what types/genres of music do you use them in?
The MS20 FX version of the plugin is also really good for adding a modulated filter to tracks too.

Solved,I've done a reinstall and that's solved my problem.zzz00m wrote: Sun Apr 24, 2022 10:28 pmVST2 or VST3, or both?Martkorg wrote: Sun Apr 24, 2022 8:48 pm
Similar issue,Windows 10 FL Studio. If I add an instance of the Polysix or MS20 to a track and save it,when I return to the project the preset I chose has reset to default.
I tested Polysix here on Win 10 with Ableton & Reaper. loading each VST type on a separate track. The presets were retained on both upon project re-launch.
I also tried it on Cakewalk, with 2 tracks, one with the VST2 & the other with VST3. Upon re-launch both plugins were loaded as VST3. Looks like there may be a bug with the new VST3 implementation that can affect certain DAWs?
Edit: sorry that was my error with Cakewalk. There is a setting to replace VST2 on project load that was enabled. Turned it off and the VST2 plugin loaded with correct preset.
Thanks

Bought the collection on sale for the M1, fell in love with the Triton.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:49 am What are your most used Korg Collection 3 synths and what types/genres of music do you use them in?

I’ve used some M1 samples and other piano samples for house in the past, but decided to go all-in next time the collection went on sale. M1 does not disappoint.
But the Triton took me by total surprise. Like the M1, I’ve been using it as a preset rompler, so no clever sound design happening. The preset banks have such a great retro 90s/00s feel. Been using them in some house, acid, electro, and techno jams over the past few days.

Thanks for sharing your usage. Nice to know that. Yeah, Triton sounds awesome and the presets loading is very fast (same with M1), which is a real plus to the workflow.eidetic wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 6:40 amBought the collection on sale for the M1, fell in love with the Triton.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:49 am What are your most used Korg Collection 3 synths and what types/genres of music do you use them in?

For me, I think the most used synth in my project files is the M1, and I often use it for its ambience and pad sounds. Some of the combinations act as a nice background for acoustic instruments. It's great for soundtrack work because of that.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:49 am What are your most used Korg Collection 3 synths and what types/genres of music do you use them in?

I've been using it for so long at this point that I've even had multiple phases of trying to find an upgrade/replacement, even going as far as buying newer hardware workstations... but I always come back to the M1 VST. It just has that sound that's easy to work with, I can't escape it!
Other than that, I'm really liking the Triton for sketching ideas since it covers so many genres. And in terms of traditional synths, the Polysix is a lot of fun to stack for that punchy 80/90s style.

Awesome to know that, thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to using Korg instruments in my music (I'll admit I had previously decided about not getting Korg Collection). Never owned a workstation, so Triton/Extreme is my best bet. Other instruments are great too.ChristopherWD wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 2:13 amFor me, I think the most used synth in my project files is the M1, and I often use it for its ambience and pad sounds. No Odyssey VST3 here on Windows 10 as far as I can tell. But the VST2 still sounds great!Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 8:24 pm So Odyssey has been released as VST3 for mac but not PC? Is this right?
