There's also the old and more powerful but less refined version on the download page. It seems they "simplified" the program with even more constraints, like a fixed song structure.mztk wrote:there's now a FREE version,
and it's russian:(i think) the (Musical)Palette

not VST, but a compositional thang, and it's freeware
new:

Manual is for the old version

How about mighty Russian bear cavalry?GeorgeZ wrote:??????????? ...and VODKA!!NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Russia. The only good things that come from russia are valves/vacuum tubes and other such components for either fixing or building stuff.
Not anything remotely software related AFAIK
Oh Nick Crow's Amp sims are alright and they are of russian origin, are they not? Which model valve/vacuum tube amps anyways
Nekro

And of course these synths:

VirusB+ thing, was never able to get it... As far as I'm aware it was developed and completed, post made, DL addresses were given in the first post and it (the site)was down/deleted within minutes.
I've done a bit of a search in webland for this as well, no joy yet, and the only place I could find any reference to this is on KVR and a Jap site that leeches threads off KVR

yeah, well it's on the list, right.
( ho ho ) ( some people must have it )
maybe ms1984 can be contacted, find out what they did with it.
if it was abandoned for copyright purposes, it might be viable as a freeware.

I think the VirusB+ guy got scared by some of the criticism. People were telling him Access would/could sue him, etc....I played the mp3 demos & didn't think it sounded bad at all. I imagine it was quite a CPU hog with all the fx he had on it. I think he had done the oscillators as a wavetable frm virus sounds & I understand that's not kosher....
sigh....
What could of been.

is powercore only osiris or totally intergrated with a big module for a dongle
meh. Not that i am a big synth user at all but i know that the access stuff is very popular so a freeware alternative would be good (got lots of virus kontakt NKI & samples from cover discs over the years but never use them
IIRC its mostly Pink Noise Studio stuff and from MusicTech mag FWIW)
Regarding russia: GeorgeZ - we actually used to use empty vodka bottles (the bigger one's) on the hi-hat stand's rod and they sound awesome for a bell like sound, although they smashed alot but i love/loved the sound (in a down-tuned metal type context, like an odd sounding ride bell kinda thing)
and more free software stuff. I take my comment back then
'Found' sound, also we took a bansaw to a cracked paiste cymbal and had the meanest spok cymbal known to man. It sounded awful but awfully great in context of the rest of the kit (wish i had bloody sampled them in hindsight
)
