Ease up man, he is working on his sax plugin. Once he's done he'll be around. And let's don't forget that he has a life as well.

Just another bump! Guido, hope all is well with you...really hoping to see, hear and test the fruits of all your hard work soon!

Hello I'm working with the Yamaha WX5 wind controller,
and I would like to test your Plugins.
Thanks
ZioKiller wrote:Hello,
do you like trumpets? I'm approaching a physical model of a trumpet in VST. Don't expect something fancy, just a simple instrument for a single sound.
No samples used, so the sound is very expressive but I'm just at the beginning and I'm sure the thing requires some more tweaking.
If you own a masterkeyboard with aftertouch, or better a Yamaha BC-3 breath controller, you can test the plugin properly.
Thanks,
Guido.
[EDIT]
Current public beta release:

To test it properly, you should have some kind of continuous controller (a breath contoller is best), and set the appropriate CC#.
Please, I need your comments.

musicat,
uhhhh, just download the plugin!
Tony Ostinato,
great demos, as usual. Wish I could play similarly with my controller keyboard. It has aftertouch and all the bells and whistles, but I guess it takes a real trumpetist with a wind controller to get the expressions more in the ballpark.

I think I remember loading Tony's zoukous mp3 (with the midi file) to study his use of breath controller. When I change the BC data it didn't change the expression much (as long it's not set to low values), much less so than the "fingering" (I mean the use of short notes, the phrasing...).
Here's my point : wouldn't it be great if instead of only changing brightness of the tone with BC, we could get some growling sound on high values.

On neither trumpet nor sax is the growl a function of volume. put it on a seperate controller # otherwise it will sound fake.

Something is strange here. He's been on this forum and posting...then all of a sudden...BAM! He's disappeared. I have a feeling he's been bought out by the likes of Arturia, et al. I mean seriously, I think there's more to his sudden disappearance than "having a life". He's usually here posting back info, but all of a sudden, we haven't heard from him in donkey's years. Something is going on. We all want to know. Someone's bought him out and we'd all like to know. If the sax and trumpet sounds in Arturia Brass suddenly get a whole lot better then we might as well believe that Guido has been bought out...Puh lease let us know, Guido, the sooner the better for all of us. At least we won't be sitting here wondering.
If anyone HAS bought him out, I seriously hope it's Applied Acoustics (the makers of Tassman) because Tassman users have been wanting conical bores/reeds/brass for quite some time. Not sure if Tassman 5 will fulfil those needs, but if AAS and Guido did a deal it would be awesome, we'd have some realistic physical models.
I think it's Arturia. But I could be entirely wrong. But my instincts usually tell me something is sort of strange here.
Come on Guido, fill us in. Please. We're all dying to know.

argh.. i hate to mention this,
but there are 1.000.000 possibilities
out there, one of them could be this:
..worst case scenario.
maybe a mafia syndicate gunned him down...
..maybe a bus caught him at a cross-road...

Look, I'm all for keeping this thread alive for as long as we can, but you guys gotta stop panicing about Guido. He's got a life. It's Spring vacation time in Europe. MilesTone is deeply cool. As a former sax player, I'm very, very eagerly waiting for a public beta of the sax model, as are a number of the rest of us. And when it surfaces, I swear, I will finally get a PayPal account just so I can make a contribution. But Guido's life is his own (I hope), and we are neither in a position to demand, nor to panic.
