Updated to the latest a few days back. Maybe it's on your side.himalaya wrote:You might need to update to the latest version, or I maybe I'm using an older build (could be why it's not showing up).
Let's both update to the latest build and I will resend the preset then.

What MPE samplers are you folks using with your Rises? I "get" the Kontakt trick (loading up multiple instances of a instrument and setting them to different channels), but it's a bit of a pain. Logic's ESX24 is easy to use and fully compatible, but there are very few built in effects.
Any other options?

Dunno. I actually don't find the MPE stuff particularly useful. It mostly feels like a gimmick to me when I use it with Equator so I haven't really looked beyond that for any other MPE compatible stuff. I just like playing the keywaves but I still need to fine-tune it so it's not too sensitive to my pounding on it.

I have used it to control dynamics on individual notes in polyphonic orchestrations in kontakt . I would think that halion probably works like kontakt but I have only just got it. Falcon has some more patches I get the feeling that you need to just add multiples but again I have not tried it

It works quite well with most of Omnisphere although if you are using an actual oscillator type patch it eats up resources real quick.Bandaide wrote:What MPE samplers are you folks using with your Rises? Also, the Steinberg stuff like Retrologue and Pad Shop work fairly well because of the similar modulation matrix, although now that I say that I'm trying to remember if there is a limitation with the slide affecting all notes because of the lack of setting up multiple instances like with Omnisphere and Kontakt.
EDIT: HALion 6 should work perfect with it because of the ability to set up multiple instances within one application. I'm definitely going to check this out. I hadn't thought of it before.

Falcon works pretty well though I'm not totally sure how to set it up from scratch. There are a bunch of MPE presets that can be changed to suit me, so I've not bothered.Bandaide wrote:What MPE samplers are you folks using with your Rises? You know what's strange?
I have both the Seaboard Rise and the Lightpad M, and the Blocks Dashboard (for use with the Lightpad) is superior to the Roli Dashboard (for use with the Rise). With the Blocks Dashboard you can save presets, for instance. And you can do things like change your Slide behavior from Absolute to Relative.
None of this is possible with the Rise, however. I assume it's coming? But it seems a odd that their $850 and $1100 products have less software support than their Blocks.

It's probably an indication of how much money they make from each.

Yep. All i see now from them is about blocks and iOS mostly. Consumerism.BONES wrote:It's probably an indication of how much money they make from each.
The Rise dashboard is a joke.
But i still like the Rise to just use it together with tools like Polymer which let you setup a specific number of notes per channel.
But that can be done via software as well without MPE controllers (of course you loose the MPE modulation options then).
However, i feel the Rise a bit abandoned.

It's an indication that one was made much earlier (RISE Dashboard) than the other (BLOCKS Dashboard), and that small teams work on many products to tight deadlines, which in turn informs which features are implemented first.

I still hope one day they will add presets to the Rise dashboard. But maybe they will be a company that "fires and forgets".
I see that the Grands are now something like 50% off.

Not sure....it’s more like making shareholders happy. Roli is like Apple.ChamomileShark wrote:I still hope one day they will add presets to the Rise dashboard. But maybe they will be a company that "fires and forgets".

I was so excited at the beginning but i see they are leaving things behind very fast to introduce new and leave out important things to customize.

That doesn't mean products need to be executed with such inconsistency.himalaya wrote:It's an indication that one was made much earlier (RISE Dashboard) than the other (BLOCKS Dashboard), and that small teams work on many products to tight deadlines, which in turn informs which features are implemented first.

Possibly. I'm happy using it as a standard MIDI controller, because I'll only ever use it on stage, so it doesn't fuss me too much. It's mostly a beautiful thing to own, like a nice painting or something. It's usefulness is almost secondary, as long as I can find an excuse to use it on stage.Cinebient wrote:But i still like the Rise to just use it together with tools like Polymer which let you setup a specific number of notes per channel.
