Guys, you're not helping me by saying such things, hAHAHA... I'm trying to write more and more efficient routines with smarter logic and so on, because I'm so afraid to get my head ripped off for offering some CPU costly features, hehe.
Well, it's all a good challenge, though. I do not believe that quality is in proportion with CPU usage, though, I can promise you that. It just depends on what you want.
I gotta hold back a little, but yeah, you can have 88 voices polyphony with totally organic sounds that hardly tax the CPU... :hihi: ...but they can't be all that this one here can, of course.
Funny, though, because we have totally monster machines these days. But they seem to make us dumber somehow, like less concerned about writing really clever routines.

A Thorn Arp. I loaded Serum wavetables in the first oscillator and the harmonic filter.

I just bought Thorn. Dimitry Schees you have to support the Thorn is really cheap and above all great.

It's not always what he says but how he says it, always turning a thread into the latest drama and somehow making it all about himself "me! me! me!". :dog:

Good grief, drop it already. How many days ago was this? You guys are like a dog with a bone. "I'm bored, time to rag on wags."

It's pathetic.

** EDIT ** My last post to this thread was on page 50 on Nov 2 saying Thorn rocks. So there was absolutely no need to dredge this up again. But that's what you guys do here. You harp and harp and harp.

And people wonder why this place pisses me off.

Not to bad that Synth...
Please donwload yourself the following sketch, and play in loop...Do you love Kraftwerk by the way? I do!
This is my Thorn-only Homage to Numbers! (To be exact - It's Thorn-only as instrument, the track is made of lot of FX plugins in company to Thorn)
https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/kraf ... -drei-vier

And yes...this is samples processed in a special way to fit into the 16 Slots of Thorn (or Zebra?).
It is not samples coming from the Noise OSC.

It's the words one two three four, just in german and a bit processed...Have fun!

I was actually hoping for Dmitry to pop up again here, see if he's up to shed some light on what he's looking into right now, if he is!?

The OSC is very much like an intense Beta testing crowd and a painful, yet, phenomenal opportunity to fine tune some things, important and otherwise. :ud: :)

I hope, he's looking into the idle situation, too. It will help a great deal to let Thorn look a lot leaner in a big project. I can't be sure what causes it to keep processing, of course...it may be effects, but could be anything down the chain, of course.

Other thing remains the filename/folder remembering. I really think it should be in there. In my synths I even distinguish between different sections so they remember their last used location (within a session, of course). Right now it's a painful thing to experiment with importing wav files. Work-arounds with folders on the desktop are not a good thing for a pro instrument and won't take the annoyance down enough in my book.

It is, however, certainly one of my favorite synths already! I don't mean to just bitch around...but since I haven't really started with my track for the OSC, yet, there may be more whining coming your way! :scared:

Dang, dude! So Kraftwerk, hehehe... or something like that. Pretty freaking cool! I kinda lose everything after Eins and Zwei, but one can still feel the drei and vier... anyway, Dang!

Hello guys, thank you for suggestions and reports, the 1.0.4 update is half finished, it will address the most important requests, just need time to finish it, much work remains. Thank you for understanding and support!

AH, wonderful, Thanks for popping in, Dmitry! I'm already excited for your next release! :tu:

Fell in love with the glitch section yesterday, there's just so much in this synth and it all seems to be good :) And I haven't even properly explored the filters yet...

so true.

I'm still slowly discovering everything.
every time i program it lately though, I wish for the mix knob to come POST "Post" filters... i dig the sound i get with the filters, but i want to blend it into the pre-distorted sound. Also more control for the reverb, and possibly delay also.

I like the synth even though the sound is too harsh to my ears..but anyway, the best part is the glitch section really really fun!

i think it's (almost) the perfect synth for me, cos i'm always taking the edge off everything too much. Now I'm left with adequate 'edge' :P
