As you might imagine, this kind of feedback really motivates a dev to bring things further, especially in a project with no commercial interest involved!

Well, your post comes just in time as I just updated my Time Capsule bank which now contains 90 patches.
I also updated my skin for Charlatan but won't post it here as it takes too much screen space.
Check out my website and you'll find everything there.
Hey Ghost. I haven't tried the new download. I am assuming the counter on bottom of gui corresponds to your 90 patch bank?
No, it's just that I like this sort of old-school displays. I wish one day Charlatan could have this sort of counter that would get updated as you browse through a bank, like in NI Pro-53.

edit: I realised that I had uploaded the wrong file for The Lost Side addition. It's been fixed so please redownload the bank.

I have a feature request:
Would it be possible to add a modwheel switch in the filter section to control the cutoff frequency.
This way, the filter could be controled without using the LFO and with the "inv" switch engaged, it could be closed instead of opened.

Post

You can do it via your DAW as well. I just tried it, assigned the mod wheel to filter cutoff and set the min to 100% and the max to 0%, works as you described :)

That's true and I've been doing exactly that.
I just thought that adding one little switch would make things a little more immediate, especially for newbies. Besides, it could be set per patch.
But then, the developer must have thought about it before me and discarded it as it's nothing, as you said, that cannot be done from outside Charlatan.

Just 32 presets. But they're good!

Just came across these: http://www.bjoernbojahr.de/index_soundssamples.html

32 free presets! I'll test them later...

While i like how Charlatan sounds and can ignore or work around the aliasing (like not doing high frequency glides with fully open filter), i would be really happy to see a control for various oversampling modes - even better if the oversampling could detect offline rendering just like realtime/offline quality control works in Diva.

Again someone asking for donations for patches for a free synth.... that just irritates the crap out of me.....God I'm getting cranky in my old age.

Hey you kids get off of my lawn......... :x

Even at 44.1 kHz and earpiercing pitches, I don't hear any obvious aliasing of the oscillators, so you shouldn't have to "work around the aliasing". Filters with very high cutoff and resonance can alias a bit, but even this is largely eliminated by switching to 96kHz. I'm curious to know which settings you are using, if you want, send me a .fxp patch.

Yes earpiercing is a right word here and it is not that i absolutely need Charlatan to go that high, it just stops the illusion of having an analog synth which Charlatan can give me when i dont go extreme with it. :)

Default (empty) patch and no effects after the synth, adjust glide to somewhere between 50% and 100%.

Folding back frequencies start being audible from around MIDI note number 110 and up.

No such behavior in Synth1 for example.

Sure going to higher frequencies in a project would solve this tiny problem, but having a button on the synth would be way more comfortable (1 click) than having to go to project settings and making all active plugins consume ~2 times more CPU.
