camera on the other hand, very nice, will even be able to finally film my oscilloscope, without it being as blurry as my actual vision without my glasses

Picked up a cheap 2 x 104 hp case by MCG. They have built one of those 4ms Row Power 40 modules into the case side. Seems meaty enough for what I’ve thrown at it. Only thing is, and wasn’t mentioned so I didn’t check, is it needs M2.5 screws and they included a pack of cheapo ones but I’ve ordered a big tin of the 2.5 knurlies so just a short term annoyance.

I got a pay raise that required some kind of celebration (e.g. buying gear).
Coincidentally, the amount of that raise is about 10% less than a new Elmyra 2 (desktop).
Coincidentally, Detroit Modular is currently having a 10% off sale.

Found out my landlord is putting my rent up by *only* £150 per month starting next January and will put in writing it won't go up for another 2 years after that. That's painful but could have been much worse considering he put it off for a year and a half and some of the rents round my way for similar places have gone up £300 a month.
So, I guess I can afford to buy something stupidly expensive on tick now. That Moog looks kind of tempting.

Not newly bought, but recently built and installed, so no longer in the kit backlog: Shakmat Bishops Miscellany (dual stepped CV recorder), and Touellskouarn Sonveskan (germanium feedback mixer).
An idiot on Set Theory:

Bought a 1.5TB microSD card along with a BaseQi microSD adapter, which allows the microSD to be mounted flush with the side of the laptop. Total cost was $120.

I think the UHS II cards speed max out higher than the first SSD I had!
Good enough to hold a huge sample library I’d have thought.

Yes. It's fast enough that I don't notice a difference from when the samples were on the hard drive. No problems so far. I don't trust the longevity of SD cards but it's perfect for NI, Arturia, UJAM, etc. that can be easily re-downloaded.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2024 6:05 pm I think the UHS II cards speed max out higher than the first SSD I had!
