The vst3 version shows up in Cubase under the subcategory "Other". Do any of you guys know if there is a way to move it to another one?
On another note I was a little disappointed to see that the new version doesn't replace the last one in old projects. So I'll have to keep the old version installed too. Not a terribly big deal.

You should indeed see it in your downloads location. If you can't access it, please do send us a message and we'll make sure you are taken care of.audington wrote:Cool! So when I check my account when I get home, I should have Mix Control Pro for free in there? I was a two-year subscriber and also bought a Mix Control license before that.
The previous VST standard did not directly support external sidechain, but required some workarounds that would have created some unnecessary issues. I don't have enough experience in VST plug-ins to personally understand it, but I am fairly sure it was brought up earlier in the discussion.DrApostropheX wrote:Judging from the manual, external sidechaining is only available in the VST3 version? This makes me sad.
Now, let's hope we can be a little less delayed with future software releasesDrApostropheX wrote:Edit: But the rest of it makes me happy!Great work! I've really enjoyed watching this strip come into its own. MixControl is the force to be reckoned with!

And thank you as well for the constant support!sinkmusic wrote:Congratulation for the release, it is a great channel strip !
I personally do not have any experience with this, but hopefully someone familiar with Cubase can answer this?geroyannis wrote:The vst3 version shows up in Cubase under the subcategory "Other". Do any of you guys know if there is a way to move it to another one?
Yes, it came down to either supporting the old version and removing some new features or losing backward compatibility but gaining new features. We opted to go with the new features, and leave an archived version of the last release of V1 in the user accounts so that it would be available to everyone if neededgeroyannis wrote:On another note I was a little disappointed to see that the new version doesn't replace the last one in old projects. I understand. Thanks for the response and congratulations on the release, I hope it's a success for your company. It surely deserves it.DNR Collaborative wrote:Yes, it came down to either supporting the old version and removing some new features or losing backward compatibility but gaining new features. please consider having the VST 2.4 plugin support four inputs instead of two and use the extra two as possible sidechain inputs; many DAWs, including REAPER and SONAR to say two, would allow handling these extra inputs for flawless sidechain.
Thank you,
Mario

If that's all it would take, that would be awesome (this seems to be how Voxengo does it?)! Reaper doesn't support VST3 yet, but when it does (someday) I'll have one plugin that can take advantage of the new format.

Thanks very much then, wasn't expecting to get Pro for free, obviously haven't been paying attention.DNR Collaborative wrote:It shows you as a full license holder, so you should be all set.

How's the limiter compared to free ones or Barricade from ToneBoosters?

This is a good plugin. I didn't get to a lot of the other option yet as I'm seriously hooked on the compressor! This is a very nice compressor. Very gluey, always polite sounding but it can go to quite some extremes and still sound nice. Not sweat, whatever I throw at it. Both modes are very usable.

Also, is anyone having any more problems downloading and installing the windows versions of the software?

yes! a FabFilter C type Side-Chain input implementation would make this thing take the cake!
I am still having that Sluggish GUI and increase in CPU when the GUI is open on my PC here. Anyone else? It has dropped by 10% though, but still when the GUI is open my CPU jumps to 30% from the 2% when it is closed.
Ugh...

It looks great and I'm looking forward to using it. However I seem to have broken it on my first go!
The steps I took were as follows:
Added it to a track in Vegas 10 and it worked fine. I then duplicated the track and the new track output didn't work with some serious peaking clicks on the output. I've tried it without any of the modules turned on.
Now it shows that behaviour (no proper output, just loud clicks) in whatever application I use MixControl in, such as Adobe Audition, on different sound cards and even after a reboot, basically it no longer works at all.
I've sent this post to TeamDNR but just wondering if anyone else has seen this kind of behaviour.

Hi there,
When I open Logic 9.1.5 the AU Validation manager is crashing with Mixcontrol Pro... when I open the Au manager it says 'crashed validation' next to Mixcontrol Pro and Mixcontrol small
Would appreciate advice on how to fix this... is there a nex installer available perhaps?
thanks
Manny

I've registered MCP, but I can not use the license file I downloaded from the TeamDNR website in Cubase 6.04.
When I add a mixcontrol pro instance to a track in Cubase 6, I get asked if I want to import a new license file. If I click "Yes", Cubase stops responding for a few seconds, then displays an empty (black) window (where MCP should appear).
If I click "No", MCP appears normally, but I could not find a way to use the license file from there (the procedure described in the pdf manual does not work, I can not find that menu option described there).
How do I proceed?
Edit:
I just tried the same using Reaper 4.01. After clicking "yes", the file selection dialog pops up, but when I select my x.license, I get the message "Registration failed"
