Q: is there a way to load samples from UVI libraries? I can only see the presets in the browser but not the samples contained e.g. in the Falcon factory library.

I think you're 100% right on this. It's not as impossible as you think to please both those M53 owners who have already bought and those who are waiting though.Hans25 wrote:I see your dilemma but unfortunately I don't think there will be an extra discount but probably just a higher voucher amount.
Here's an easy solution: +/-$75 voucher for those who have purchased M53 already, and +/-$54 up front off the introductory price for those who have not. Since a voucher can only be used in one place I would bet that most people would be OK with this. The only hassle for UVI is making sure that someone isn't attempting to get both deals. Even considering someone managing to get both deals somehow, the fact that UVI libraries all work within Falcon and are tweak able there creates an environment within Falcon for further purchases. Plus the M53 user base has already been paying customers. I own a dozen UVI libraries myself.
If we are overthinking this, it has to be said that UVI are guilty of vastly over complicating the situation. I'm sure the dissolution of their MOTU deal is part of it, but Ableton just announced Push 2, not made in partnership with AKAI anymore, and an upgrade/trade in deal is being offered at the introduction of the product!

.. which, hopefully, won't upset the MachFive 3 owners who have already gone ahead and purchased Falcon anywaysotristan wrote:There will be definitely an announce before the end of the week.aMUSEd wrote:Any news for MachFive owners yet?

Sorry, but I think that deal would be unfair for those who already bought Falcon. If we are being given a voucher, it has to be of a bigger difference, IMO. At least another $100,00. After all, we are going to use the vouchers in UVI products, so, the correct exchange would be like 2 for 1, which would be $108,00 for your $54 rebate.machinesworking wrote: Here's an easy solution: +/-$75 voucher for those who have purchased M53 already, and +/-$54 up front off the introductory price for those who have not. I think that sounds great, but no company devalues their product at 50% VS cash, you have to agree that's asking too much of them. They believe that String Machines is worth $99, asking them to think of it as worth $50 because of your purchase, ostensibly before you knew they would do anything, is asking a lot.fmr wrote:Sorry, but I think that deal would be unfair for those who already bought Falcon. They are not devaluing their product. I am thinking that half of the price is profit, therefore, what I am being offered actually is the cost (50%). If I was given a choice, between those two alternatives, I would rather prefer a refund of $54,00 instead of a voucher of $75,00. What do you think would be best for them - a voucher of $100,00 or a refund of $50,00? And I would see that as a prize for those that, in spite of having Mach Five, jumped already on the Falcon wagon. After all, I bet we aren't that manymachinesworking wrote:I think that sounds great, but no company devalues their product at 50% VS cash, you have to agree that's asking too much of them. I am having an installation problem. Maybe it has been addressed in the past 800+ messages, I don't know... Apologies in advance if it's redundant. I have Falcon installed, audio-midi configured, but adding the soundbanks has stopped me cold. I am following the directions in the manual. I go Preferences > Soundbanks Page and click the "..." button, as directed, and direct to the folder containing all my .ufs files (the new Falcon Factory.ufs plus my .ufs files from MachFive 3, having reconfigured all of them into one folder which is on an external drive). Then, when I try to close Falcon to restart it, as directed in the manual, I get an unexpected "save changes" dialog, which takes me to a "save multi as" window. I don't know what to put in as a "save as." I tried a test file, but nothing had gotten saved on restarting Falcon. I had no problem getting the soundbanks recognized in UVI Workstation, using the procedure spelled out in the email from UVI, but I didn't have any kind of "save as" dialog. Any ideas here? Thanks in advance!

Just click cancel, it always asks you if you want to save your multi, even if you have only looked at the GUI or talked about Falcon, just ignore it and hit cancel.

The only way out is "Save" or "Don't Save"... Save gets me to the "save multi as" window, Don't save... well, that is self-explanatory, closes down the program with no changes.

Your changes to the library path in preferences are not saved in the multi, they should be saved when you just quit If they aren't something else is wrong.jtenney wrote:The only way out is "Save" or "Don't Save"... Don't save then. I wasn't in front of the bird so the cancel-command was confusing.jtenney wrote:That doesn't work, Simon, it puts me in a loop back to the "save changes" dialog.
