Don't get your point.
I'm not saying that developers shouldn't protect their work. Other companies do it to, but what's so bad about e.g. U-hes serial protection? It works, and I don't have to buy some usb dongle for it. And btw iLok is also cracked, so that argument about it not crackable is already refuted.
Again, I use iLok protected stuff, so ok, maybe I'll consider it for Vengeance if the plugin is worth it.
I just don't understand why I have to pay extra cash for that stupid dongle.

An alternative would all the eLicenser-protected products sell $20 more expensive and each time one purchases such a product will get a eLicenser key "for free". Buy 5 products, get 5 eLicensers "for free".2ZrgE wrote: But one thing I really cannot understand: why do I have to pay for the dongle? Why isn't it part of the deal?
The sale of the key separately, ensures that you pay one time the key when you purchase 5 products, not 5 times.

I know there's no real pratical solution, but for me it's kind of a deal breaker.
Using my notebook as dongle is what I did accept, but I'm not sure what happens if I lose that 'dongle'. And why do I have to be afraid about that, I paid enough for the software I use.
Whatever, I'll wait for the official release and decide then.

If you've lost many usb memory sticks or adapters there's a reason to seriously think on this aspect before committing to purchase a dongle. However, Avenger will be dongle-free as Manuel mentioned in a previous post.2ZrgE wrote: Using my notebook as dongle is what I did accept, but I'm not sure what happens if I lose that 'dongle'. Why buy a dongle? Simple. You buy food, right? But you have to have a place to store the food. So you buy a refrigerator. Nobody gives you one for free. Don't want to buy a refrigerator? Buy food that doesn't need to be refrigerated.

Not really a valid comparison, because you just don't need a dongle to use software synths. You need a computer, allright.
I have so many stuff from different companies, but no dongle. Still I can use it. How come?

Bloody brilliant. Many thanks for that tutorial, massively increases the uses for the synth and drum kit imo. I can see me just using Avenger for drums sometimes - it's still quite rare (for some bizarre reason) to have a drum sampler combined with its own sequencer that are both intuitive and versatile.msvs wrote:as requested:

All u-he Plugins are cracked, so serial does not work. 95% of all VST and DAW is cracked. So a dongle is best option for a company to protect there stuff. Cubase is a good example or Falcon.2ZrgE wrote: U-hes serial protection? It works, and I don't have to buy some usb dongle for it. You're joking, right? The name of the thread (hence the topic) is "Vengeance Producer Suite - AVENGER - official announcement / videos".RichN wrote:I'm sorry to say this, but this video is off topic.msvs wrote:as requested:

New trend in kvr starting now, if you don't like the way a company prices their products, or protects their products be it dongle or complex serial numbers C/R whatever. Don't buy it, n don't bitch about it. This way we can get back to the relationship between artist and musicians, and developers.

Mostly it's okay, but occasionally it gets plain wrong, especially if the dev concerned makes an "untactful" remark.
I've seen this cause mob rule for a week or more, as Manuel prob knows.
But as you say, it's about the relationship between artist & developer, and that's what counts.
I've always loved Manuel's stuff. He does what he does so well, and I'm really delighted he's bringing out such an awesome synth.
My dear wife has already been primed for the spend
