I went for the TAL J-8 as well and I am loving it.
For now I am happy with V Collection 7 but should the 7 > 8 upgrade ever go on sale for considerably less than $199 then you can count me in.

Same! I'll pick it up as soon as it's available for $99.

There even seems to be some confusion among Arturia colleagues about the conditions to meet in order to qualify for these separate upgrades.
Kevin from Arturia stated on this forum:
"The Jup-8 V4 and Stage-73 V2 are not free update for anybody and they are not offered to VCollection 7 owners.
The upgrade price is 29 for each. If you go in the product page and that you are logged you should see the upgrade available."

There is no mentioning of any addtional condition in order to be eligible for an upgrade besides the basic ownership of the previous versions. In other words if a customer owns the previous version of Jupi 8 and/or Stage 73 he is simply eligible to upgrade - according to Kevin.

This makes me think that I in fact qualify for an upgrade to Stage V2 being a V6 owner.
Like I described earlier I'm able to find the upgrade option for Jupi 8 but the upgrade for Stage 73 is missing.

However Gaby from Artura Sales Support states different from what Kevin wrote:
"The upgrade for Stage 73 would be available in case you have the VC7"
and then continues to say:
"You got the upgrade for Jup since you own the previous version"
Yes it's true:
I own the previous version of the Jup 8 bought in 2011 prior to the introduction of VCollection .
But I also own the previous version of Stage 73 as a part of the VCollection.

So as a matter of fact I own the previous versions of BOTH instruments, correct?

So is Arturia constructing some complex co-conditions by some alleged difference in ownership in order to exclude customers from the upgrade option?
In other words:
Why do I have to own VCollection 7 to qualify for the upgrade of Stage 73?
I owned it way before V Collection 7!
I really cannot see what especially VCollection 7 has to do with the upgrade of Stage 73.

I have to say it is all but clear as to when an Arturia customer qualifies for the separate upgrades of Jupi 8 and Stage V2.
Really based on some alleged difference in ownership?

Maybe some back office rep from Arturia could chime in here to set the facts straight in a fair manner?

The upgrade is $29 to people who own the Jup and Stage-73 SINGLES, not bundled in the collection.

OUTDATED INFORMATION, SEE MY NEXT POST.

+ if you ask sales support, they will add the "$29 upgrade" coupon manually if you are a V Collection owner instead.

well, this is really something :)

let's talk to the support...

It really sounds like Arturia need to have an internal discussion to ensure that all of their team members at on the same page. Just saying' :)

After very fast and friendly assistance from Arturia I managed to return my earlier purchase of Jup-8 4 upgrade and buy full V collection 8! Happy owner of Vocoder and Emulator I am now!

talked to the support, and yes, it works that way. (I'm on VC 6)

It's kinda mysterious, no $29 coupon appeared on my account, but when I add Jup-V4 to the cart, there's a discount.

Thanks Walter... Giving that a try now, with Support. I tried adding it to my shopping cart (I have upgradable copies of VC 5 and VC 6), but didnt see any discount..just a $299 price. Hopefully support can do something for me too. The Jup-8 V4... is what Im really looking for out of VC 8..

Maybe just wait. While I was on VC 5, after some time I got the overhauled version of Synclavier V belonging to VC 7 for free...

I wrote Arturia yesterday about offering the $29 upgrade for Stage73 V2 as a V6 owner. Today, the reduced price version was available in the shopping cart. Bought it, D/L’d and authorized it. Works fine. For the moment, it would appear that emailing customer support is the only way to get this discount. As mentioned above, once you’ve been notified that you’ve been upgraded, the process to actually get it can be a bit confusing (if you go by their Coupon FAQ). You need to go to the Cart and see if the discount is in the price column or not.

+1 Wrote Arturia support yesterday, asked about getting an upgrade copy of JUP-8 V4 (from VC6). They put JUP-8 V4 in my cart for $29.

It seems that I made a mistake. I thought it was possible for VCollection owner to buy the upgrade for Jup-8 and Stage-73 directly from our website but it is unfortunately only available for people who bought them individually. We haven't created the automatic upgrade path for VCollection users. But as written by others here you can contact our tech support and they will do it manually for you.

Sorry for the confusion (and happy new year to everybody).

Kevin

As I said before... it sounds like Arturia needs to have an internal team meeting to make sure that everyone is on the same page. :)

But I am glad that you guys are accommodating those people who reach out to you.
