The green was cool. I remember playing the Sacramento Noise Fest and seeing the act before ours was using some laptop with Absynth on it. I never got a chance to ask him what it was, but I remember thinking how cool it seemed. I didn't figure it out until I saw it demoed at a MacWorld.

1. Absynth all but freezes to a halt if the pack includes 100 or more sounds. After 10-15 minutes, it starts working again.

2. No audition. Auditioning presets seems to be reserved for the factory ones.

3. No AI preset cloud. External presets do not appear in the color cloud either. You only see them when you switch to the old column view.

So, this could be improved upon.
Same here. I'm trying to import all my Absynth 5 presets and it did half of them but completely freezes forever on the other half.

Utterly infuriating.

Oh I don't care nearly enough to do something like that. I just mean for branding the old ones were pretty good.

Always easy to tell when someone had Absynth loaded on a computer! (well before V6 anyways)

zerocrossing wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 2:58 pm I'm surprised there's no way of assigning aftertouch or mod wheel to control Macros... or am I missing something?
You can. I was already using aftertouch for something else and don't have a mod wheel (Linnstrument 128), I was assigning an expression pedal. Normally, it is easier to just right-click the knob in the Bitwig device, start MIDI Learn and then wiggle the controller rather than remember what CCs my various controllers are sending.

That's been my experience, as well. Not exactly happy to see other people having this problem, but at least it's looking like not entirely user error on my end.

Audition requires previews having been created. So I have done that for a lot of third party and user library banks

Getting third party etc banks to load is working fine so far but it depends on how you do it. The AI stuff I don’t need anyway if it’s only going to work with what NI provided

Same here. It's just freezes trying to scan my 3rd party presets from Musicrow. Also, both the floppy disk icons do the same thing, save a preset. Shouldn't one of them be for loading or am I missing something?

Te-e-echnically that breaks the user agreement on my soundsets but, I'll let it slide since it's a community good... and it's nearly Christmas! :P

If I ever get the bugger to work, I shall test your previews out properly. Maybe if I make an Absynth 6 soundset in the future (which is currently a HUUUUGE maybe!), I can hire you? :)

wohoooo Matt didnt know it is you :D Love your soundsets I bought, would love to see an Absynth 6 soundset from you.

oh btw, you should really offer some kind of upgradable EVERYTHIING BUNDLE :P i got so many soundsets bought i would love to complete my collection but when single prices of the left items are nearly as expensive as the everything bundle it is kinda disappointing...

Yes, please tell us more about how you get these imports to work! And, thank you for the preset auditions, must've been a massive amount of work.
To synaesthesia, thank you for Community Spirit of your own
Cheers,
CJ

As your attorney, I suggest we sue.

So there needs to be a "How to sound like Jon Hopkins with Absynth" tutorial to accompany that very inspired "Introducing Absynths 6" video. That could have been a track on Singularity. Could have fooled me.
