Can you talk more about that? Where and when will this sharing community be hosted (set up)? I want to make sure we all support this for two reasons:

1. It helps us use these kits in a smarter way by sharing presets and ideas (so they don't just sit on the hard drive unused). This way, people can hear what is possible and get a head start by relating to ways in which others here are using the kits.

2. It supports the product by getting (and KEEPING) people excited about using it and learning how good it CAN sound with the right settings.

Presets are best applied when the sound source is known and consistent. That makes these kits the PERFECT candidates for a preset exchange (imo). So, in this case Squids and Co., as well as experienced users, can make these samples sound great for everyone. That promotes the product which encourages repeat business which leads to more group buys for addicts like me :hihi:

Well, my two pennies...

No one cares to comment on this? Squids? I thought you guys would be more interested in this but maybe not  :?

We might be able to extend it two more weeks into February if that makes a difference.

Actually, there's a $50 coupon for EpiK DrumS AND a free $150 hard drive that comes with EpiK DrumS as well from now until February 14th. For whatever reason Ken said that promo needed to end ON Valentine's Day. So you have to REALLY love drums. ;)

Okay, we've got the extras for 400. You ready?

• Over 100 more midi grooves from ODD GROOVES courtesy of Per! He can talk more about those but it is a taste from each of his sets of odd time signature and more complex grooves than you normally see.

• A mystery extra Signature Snare from a famous drummer - I shall reveal which one and who it is soon. Aha!

• Ocean Way Drums Kit 10 Medium that normally comes free only for the OWD Expandable Player... we'll let you have an Infinite Player version of it to add to your set up (so that makes it 13 mix kits total from OWD)

• FIFTY Hybrid Kits featuring mix and match kit pieces from the kits in this bundle including "album ready" mixes with built-in processing, hard rock in your face drums to polished pop sounds to aggressive Metal, Hip Hop and more.

----

If we reach 500 there will be 50 more Hybrid Kits, even MORE midi grooves and another mystery sample surprise.

GOOD LUCK!

Yes, I meant to reply to that. I am all for it and we'll do it through our company forum here on KVR with some way of collecting and helping to redistribute some patch sharing. I think it is a great thing to do especially now that there are also custom map possibilities and people in this and other communities like VDrums.com can help each other out with maps ready for specific brands. Besides that people will make some creative kits and we're going to have a kit making contest next month that everyone can join. I mentioned it a million pages back but I think it is a great idea and all the entries can be shared with everyone so you'll have that many MORE customized kits with different sounds - and people competing to make really good sounds out of the variety of samples in this group buy. So... rock on with that!

I could imagine that Squids already did this but since I don't wan't to read this whole thread..... maybe anyone could jump in.

I asked this a few pages before. Since Squids seems to be around here right now .... here is it again!

I probably skipped your post thinking it was just spam! Haha. Just kiddin'

Well, one of the main difference is that OWD DL Edition is 5 fixed kits with 2 more of your choice. These are a total of 10 different kits (with 2 of them having more than one mix). The DL Edition kits each do have 3 mixes though (a dry, medium and ambient). These 13 mix kits from OWD only have one mix apart from kit 4 which has two mixes and kit 10 which - if you reach 400 - will have 3 (right now has 2 - a dry and ambient).

It DOES make sense to upgrade to DL (either a la carte kit by kit for the ones you like or the full DL Edition) to get the additional mixes. Obviously not necessary for Kit 10. But for the other kits... not to mention the kits not included in this group buy. Then there's also upgrades to the multichannel kits as well to consider but if you do that you'll need the OWD Expandable Player.

No, but they might be concert toms which are similar (single head).

We DO have Rotos in Drum Masters series including the high ones and the low ones Bruford and Collins used to use. Also Octabons like Copeland used to use... wait until this whole thing starts to unfold. You will be amazed at what you can add to this set up. Pretty much every brand of drum you can think of, tons of different cymbals, vintage drums, custom drums that belong to famous drummers... this is deluxe. We're only scratching the surface here and already it is jam packed with content. But each instrument does have its sound, different sound of acoustic rooms as well, the mics and equipment. We're helping you build the ultimate library of drum flavors with this. If you like those sounds (as I do) then get yourself in "collecting mode" because it sure is a lot cheaper to get samples than it would be to find, purchase and store all of that stuff! (not to mention record it with $60,000 of mics each time in a $2,500 per day studio with a top engineer helping you and an LA drum tech on hand to rent you the gear and tweak it for your needs).

It's important for us to point that stuff out and if you watch the videos on www.sonicreality.tv you can actually SEE people like Ross Garfield (The Drum Doctor) setting up all of this stuff or Ken Scott, Hugh Padgham and other engineers getting drum sounds with Sonic Reality in the studio... or the mics, the consoles, the drums... the idea is to go OVER the top in luxury for THAT kind of session because so many people are going to be able to benefit from it. Believe me if I was doing just a regular session for my music I wouldn't be able to afford all of that luxury for one song or album... but to do it where it is for people all over the world who want the same thing? That's how it's possible. You can also feel good that if you support it - like everyone in this group buy is doing and THANKS for that - then you are fueling the fire for more killer sessions to be done for even more instruments captured in deluxe settings like that.

Whats the easiest smallest midi recording platform that also does AU plugs? I need one specifically for the GB package plus some other AU soft synths. I already have an audio recording platform but it won't do midi (Harrison Mixbus). Audacity doesn't do midi. Would Garageband be okay? Reaper might be too big as is Logic. Sorry if off topic.
