Agreed! I will be getting RaySpace ASAP...lion_cub wrote:I think rayspace represents a serious attempt to utilise the graphical potential of the computer with an intelligent user interface.
So many developers continue to tread down the same old archaic GUI mentality with knobs and an uninformable interface.
Well done QuikQuak !!
(Btw, not sure about the developer's name. Sounds a bit ingenuine to me)
Oh, and also, this thing beats that acoustica reverb thing hands down.
Quik Quak RaySpace Best Reverb Ever?

OK,
a few thoughts about RaySpace. When I read the first time about it I was very excited about the idea. I was disappointed then when I tried it and didn't hear a smooth tail but single echoes. OK, now I could hear 1024 of them but that doesn't make a complete room. And that's the real problem for me. The approximation is too coarse for me. In my eyes it would benefit from some offline mode with a multiplyer for the rays. E.g. let the user dial in 10 times as much rays than in realtime mode". This would be the fastest way to improve that reverb. The basic qualities of this reverb are there and the concept so far has it's strengths. So I think this would be worth it.
Best wishes, FRitz

I`m sure rayspace with its up to 1000 reflections is maybe more dense than many other reverbs.... but not optimized to much for extremly smooth sound on special frequencies....
possibly the developer can tune it a bit more and all will be happy, thge price is good, and it is not sounding cheap.
At least the VST reverb market is becoming serious at the moment. arts acoustic have a good reverb and I think they will tune it also. Wizoo is a very good reverb and QuikQuak also has some potential.
What I like most about Arts Acoustic is to change the cut off times for low mid and high freqs seperatly.... this is more flexible....
But Artsa Acoustic is not sounding that dense....
Many reverbs miss an envelope for the reverb, which does a huge effect on the character of a reverb, as a large hall has a longer attack, than a short room...
I also miss this in QuikQuak tool, but as it is mathematical room calculator it does work a little bit other than most reverbs....
The reverbs can even get better than now.... its not the end...

Awesome! There were 7 people from Melbourne (yeah, near Geelong counts) in this thread alone!!
