I'll add Stand by R.E.M.

That one is just pretty much useless. Why the hell would I want to stand in the place where I am, face north, think about direction, then think about why I hadn't before?

Unless, of course, I was on some kind of illegal substance... :-o :o :hihi:

At least you've got to give that one credit for hutzpa. "Sky rockets in flight/Afternoon delight/Workin' up an appetite"

Hmmm, let's write a song and get it all over the radio in 1977 and it will just be about nothing other than porking in the afternoon because we are far too horny to wait six hours to do it later that night. :)

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

uh... a monster tune that my brother's mother-in-law LOVED.
My Grandmother even liked it.
I liked it too, the first 1000 or so times I heard it played on the radio.
Now I only catch the occasional replay of 'Waynes World'

It's still for sillies.

For me, Whitney's 'I Will Always Love You' is still the one to beat. Also that 'Moving On Up' song by M-People. Two powerful arguments against owning ears. :(

the problem is there is just so much bad, foul stink it's hard to even start a thread like this. and you guys have done a good job but there's just an entire other dimension still, stuff like 'Illegal Alien' from Genesis and 'Dancing on the Ceiling' from Lionel Ritchie. wait, what's that I hear? Huey Lewis singing 'Hip to be Square'

"Playin' with the Boys". Kenny Loggins. 'Top Gun' soundtrack.

She-Bop from Cindy Lauper.

i could go on but suddenly i am wracked in horrendus and unspeakable gas pains and feel the sudden urge to vacate enormous amounts of foul and fetid fecal suffering all over the memories of these songs.

Ok, this song was cathartic for him, after his son's tragic death, however, it should have remained a private recording, and not commercially released in order to fatten up his bank balance even further.

Man, if all the royalties would have gone to a kids charity or something, that would have helped, but as it is, I hear Clapton wailing about his poor kid, ... and then counting out the money.

Truly awful.

oh man...dude...yes, yes, yes, yes.....i was trying to think of it, i remember mocking this admittedly heartfelt song so many times...oh wait, i know the one i'm thinking of..."Wonderful Tonight", the hands down worst piece of crapola to pass into my ears......but i think EC might of topped it with the acoustic version of "Layla", it is so friggen god awful, and i really like cream and yardbirds, i guess that's what makes it hurt so much...and i hate "American Pie" also...

whoever said "da da da", i respectfully disagree, but i can't bitch and whine about 'em all, i tend to like the odd novelty/pyscho-pop tunes...shit, "autobhan" is a novelty tune as far as the charts go....
