Whoo-hooo, cool! Looking forward to plugging my new Schecter 12-string though this over the weekend and see what it can do! :D

BTW: I vaguely remember discussion at one point of there being a pedal in this similar to the Boss "slow-gear" for auto-swells....will that perhaps be coming later on, or...?

Thanks guys...nice job! :)

kk; delete 1.5 if you want :)

har; it's there already, part of guitsyn :)

Okay, this thing sounds great!

However.... There's a control that I'm obviously not finding. Whenever I load one of the synth patches, everything is good, I can modify it, and so on. However, if I load a plain guitar patch, then switch to the 'Synth Setup' page, I can't get any synth sounds, no matter what I tweak. I do power on the synth, right under the Guitsyn logo.

I get no sound at all when I have this powered up, until I bring down the Mix knob, so that I can hear the original guitar signal. Still no synth sound, though.

I've tried this in both Reaper .982 and Tracktion 1.6 NFR, so I don't think it's just the host. I've gone through and literally tweaked every knob and flipped every switch I can see.

What am I not understanding?

Edit: Incidentally, it does hear the input, the thermometer goes up and down when I play. However, the output thermometer does not come up, until I mix in plain guitar signal.

I noticed this as well but thought it was user error. Hopefully not hey?

When you don't load the synth from a patch, but rather from scratch, you have to do two things:

1. Turn the synth on. There is a switch right under the words "Audio Triggered Synth" that is on the left side.

2. You have to turn up the decay or sustain on an envelope. From scratch, it leaves everything at zero. But you have to change that. Start with the amplifier, which is right to the LEFT of the large Mix knob on the right side of the synth.

Then you should start hearing sound. But you have to tell the envelope how much you want to hear of each part.

I hope this helps.

My host is better than your host

By the way, your base sound will be whatever you have the amp settings on. So you can start with any amp preset you want, then adjust the synth.

Hmm. I had some strange behaviour with that about box (it didn't close) with multiple instances. But now when I try repeating it, it works just fine.

the easiest way to get sound out of this synth:
Click on "Synth Setup"
Set "AMPLIFIER" > "SUS" to maximum
Set "FILTER 1" > "HP" to minimum and "LP" to maximum
Vary "CUT" frequency ...

With a typical live setup, you would have pedals to turn things on and off, correct? Well, I'm assuming you can automate using MIDI on this plug. But that doesn't do any good for live use.

So what about a way to turn different stomps on and off using the computer keyboard? That way, it will be a quick switch instead of having to get the mouse to the button and click. And if you don't know when exactly you're going to switch, automation won't help anyways.

Try Bome's Midi Translator ...

wow. I'm impressed! sounds very good, i love that mic positioning and the new gui is very tasteful. is this thingie now for free or will it be commercial?

the only point for improvement i see is the cpu usage which is still relativly high. bu the rest is really outstanding.

What asseca and koolkeys is correct! I did not have time to mess with the synth on every preset (you would not have got the beta for at least a week) but will take some time to clean up before the final release. You have to start from scratch setting up the synth for the beta, not too tuff to get around once you learn the controls?

Feature request: I want to be able to turn off FreeAmp's cab simulation stage.

Preset request: Proper ultra high gain. (current bank doesn't provide any good presets of this type and i don't have enough time now to tweak)

Speaker bypass ? Set speaker to Green Hives place the mic at the center possition and you have it right from the preamp :)

Ultra high gain preset ? Someone make one and I will add it to the final release :D
