Impact runagate demo A
Impact runagate demo B
Impact runagate demo C
Been too busy to upload more demos but I finally be done with the weekend from hell in 12 hours but I thought I'd come by and hype this some more to inspire Ugo to finsh since now I want the morphing effect, too. I am a greedy little VST-monger.
He's barely posted in the last week so I imagine he's been busy as I have, though I don't know if he's busy making code or cleaning yaks or what.

yaks are filthy animals. in need of constant attention, true...but not much is more rewarding than having a clean and sparkly yak.
...did someone mention that Tunguska might be a suitable name? (maybe it's just that I'm an x-files/space nerd, but I like it
)
BTw- if this thing doesn't come out soon, I'm just gonna start stealing samples off your demos, runny

Ah, you're always welcome to steal samples off my stuff, blortblort. But they won't morph.
I'm interested to hear the rest of the patchbank for "T.D.S.F.K.A.I." as I imagine that other people didn't try to make it sound like a dub band that got sucked into a cyclone.
FWIW, several patches I made are not even supposed to sound like kick/snare/cymbal but sputz/hash/doiyoiyoiyoiyoing just because the potential for bizzarre sound effects is definitely there with "T.D.S.F.K.A.I.VSTi"

yup, very busy. over the last two weeks my day job went from being super slow to totally kicking my ass. when i finally get home at night, i've been working until all hours on the vsts, web updates, manuals, etc.runagate wrote:He's barely posted in the last week so I imagine he's been busy as I have,
(still at work right now, but taking a break...its going to be a long night.)
the effect will be on its way to you quite soon. i think you're going to love what the pitch shifting granulator does to drums.but I thought I'd come by and hype this some more to inspire Ugo to finsh since now I want the morphing effect, too. I am a greedy little VST-monger.

oh sure, i wanted to have a clean and sparkly yak but wouldnt you know it...every shop in the area was out of yak polish. who would have thought that could happen in the DC area!blortblort wrote:yaks are filthy animals. in need of constant attention, true...but not much is more rewarding than having a clean and sparkly yak.
i dig it too. that is one of the names in the running right now....did someone mention that Tunguska might be a suitable name? (maybe it's just that I'm an x-files/space nerd, but I like it)

Ugo stick with Impact, any other name sounds a bit shit to me after working with this plug for so long.
People with long memories might remember there was a drum synth manufacturer called Impakt back in the 70's so as far as i'm aware they were the first to use it in a drum context whatever way its spelt, how dare Digidesign rip their name off!!
This reminds me of when McDonalds opened their first "restuarant" in the highlands of Scotland and promptly took a local shopkeeper to court for using the name McDonald in his sign (it was the guys name), the judge pointed out to them that we'd been using the name McDonald in Scotland way before Ronalds mother had that one night stand......and promptly told them to f**k off, or words to that effect...if this happens to you i'd advise the same

after much consternation and gnashing of teeth, a decision has been reached...
the synth will now be named Ironhead and the multi effect will be called Tunguska.

now i have to find every instance of the name "impact" in the synth, the manual, and the site updates i had been working on, and change them all.

luckilly the same font looks pretty good with ironhead too. it shouldnt take me too terribly long to make all the changes. in the great scheme of things, its a minor pain in the ass.runagate wrote:That "Impact" graphic was nice, too.

i saw that too but im not too worried about that one. ironhead was also a rob zombie song, a helmet song, a type of harley davidson, the nickname of a former NFL player, and nickname of MMA fighter kazuyuki fujita. the latter being my inital inspiration for using the name.GaryG wrote:http://www.iron-head.net/

These things can get a bit silly, but it should be perfectly fine if there's no Ironhead VST(i) product yet.
Hey, incidentally I was listening to Helmet's Ironhead this morning. Can I program drums like that with Ugo's Ironhead?
