10 dollars 350+ Classic Jazz drum loops

Just bought because I need some jazzy drums but I don't know what's a REX2 format and what "acidized" means... sorry for my ignorance

Hi Ziokiller!
Rex2 is a format that was originated by the propellerheads and their recycle application. It allows an enabled host application or instrument to read timing information about the transients in the loop, IE - a loop that was originally recorded @ 64bpm can be played back at 90 bpm without changing the pitch, etc.
very handy!
Acidized is similar, but that same sort of timing info is embedded into a simple wav file that can be played back on many more different devices and apps than REX2.
They're both provide timing (and i believe Acid may provide pitch info?) so that appropriate apps may be able to take advantage of that information.

bottom line- if you purchased the wavs you'll be sure to be able to use them in most everything. If you got the REX2's, you have to use'em in something that reads that format (or you could purchase recycle 2.0 as I believe that is the only app that converts to wav...watch... someone will prove me wrong )

I didn't need the jazzy stuff, so I just got the endangered Rhythms and the drum sound of the 60s (both in wavs and Rex2) instead

Yeah, I didn't buy these but I did get Drum Sounds of the Sixties... although I probably won't use the loops too much, the one-shot sounds are excellent. And cheap, too!

I, too, like lots of multisamples to put into samplers for my own use.


Increasingly I find that I just don't like sample mappings made by people other than me. With so many free and cheap high quality samplers like Shortcircuit, Highlife, and sfz around, it's always easy to bang something together.


And just think, less than a generation ago, a crappy sampler (by today's standards) cost more than a small car.
