I knew it had to do with fish! Is that a largemouth or smallmouth bass? Or maybe there is a mouthsize slider?
Seriously, what if you already have ManyStation, Ultimate Bass Kit, Manyguitar, ManyOne and the upright and ovation sets? How much more functionality does this offer? I mean, ManyTone is already my go to for bass, but the stuff I already have is pretty good.

It offers a huge amount of functionality in terms of using your bass samples in an instrument designed for them.2ndStringer wrote:I knew it had to do with fish! Is that a largemouth or smallmouth bass? Or maybe there is a mouthsize slider?

It also offers 2.4 gig of new samples ...read the details on the website pages about the soundsets etc.. These samples are our biggest Project to date. They cover an electric bass guitar inside out.
Also this engine will provide an "ultimate" vehicle to use your Ultimate Bass kit in. As it has 4 ketswitching layers, UBK will play well in ManyBass and allow you to load 4 of the soundsets in one interface and simple keyswitch between them.
Anyways.... We all think it is our best instrument to date here! You guys will hopefully find this also!

Nice idea.
Basses are really becoming important to me as I pare my arrangements down.
Well, I reckon I'll give this a whirl.
Reserve my spot; I'll pay you in the next 48 hours.

The MP3s are pretty nice, and I hadn't even thought much about the GUI at first, but it's got a nice retro look to it.
2.4GB is a humungous sample set; I hope it's pretty compressed for downloads!
And when you say available in June, are you thinking June 1, or 7 or 15 or what? Just curious...

We have two main key ranges: the first one having long, naturally decaying sustained tones, and the second one having stacatto samples. Both ranges having two velocity layers, the normal velocity layer usually being pure tones, whereas the loudest velocity layer is where you dig into the strings more, and get a sort of pop/buzz sound. These are the main two noticeable velocities in real bass playing. You can also add a lowpass filter in ManyBass to simulate more velocity changes, but these two layers go pretty far.
I should mention that the entire 128 MIDI keys in every soundset are packed full of note ranges, and other noises such as harmonics, muted notes, and slides. We actually had to remove a few samples to make room for the keyswitches! All of the soundsets have identical mappings, making them compatible--anything you sequence using one pickup setting or articulation will sound good in any other soundset.
Anyway, if you're dealing with longer tones, you can always use a pitch bend to grab an adjacent sample.
Honestly, I find that ManyBass doesn't really need sequencing wizardry to sound realistic. Out of all the other instruments I've sampled, these soundsets are my best, and I know you guys are going to absolutely love ManyBass!
I should also mention that I showed the first demo song (the solo bass piece) of ManyBass to a group of professional bassists and they didn't even notice it was synthesized. Now I have a new reputation to aspire to. Uh-oh, I better step up the practicing...

Although it won't automatically cycle for you, you can cycle between the sustained and stacatto samples to eliminate the dreaded machine gun effect--really, that's the only time you'd need cycling samples, since when playing slower, more sustained tones, a lot of bassists won't cycle index/middle fingers as they would playing fast stuff.zircon wrote:Does it have up/down or round robin samples?
