I finally had some time to spend with S3. You hve captured something "vintage" here! This is relly nice. I guess it doesn't sound like ny one string synth, but it does sound like a string synth. Thank you.

It sounds like it should be an S3b version which could have some other little wrinkles added. (Ring Mod immediately springs to mind as something in keeping with the era)
Just a small point though is that at the moment there are 8 oscillators all buzzing away in detunedness. The other option would mean that you would only have 3 oscillators detuned per waveform, start mixing the waveforms together and you would have loads going on, but on a single waveform some of the richness would be missing.
At the moment there are 11 waveforms but we could probably afford to lose the sine wave.. (rocker 1)
Obviously it will be worth trying out. I would expect CPU to get a bit heavy (er) though!

I just love the way they look - if it was a hardware synth, I'd be pushing those buttons all day long for the joy of it. But 'S3b' sounds like a great idea.

Yeah its that 'How important is tha GUI?' question which sometimes crops up aroud here. Personally I feel that, at the very least, a GUI will put you in a certain mindset which might lead you to playing in a certain style.. How about modding the buttons (if possible) to XFade between the two states, rather than a thumb wheel - afterall its only a bitmap. I'm not sure what control SE has, but could you use std click & drag for rocking knob, and ctrl+click to current switch interaction [or the other way around]? That way the 'slider' effect is attained, and himalaya and others can stay in the mood?
I don't know enuff about what is avaiable in SE..

I love these sounds, and it does them well. A 3b sans sine would be cool, too.

I know software instruments develop, but I really like this the way it is now, simple and sweet.
