Just got mine last night and haven't hooked it up to the computer but I'm extremely impressed so far. I love the Minimax - like someone said above it also had me at preset one. What a sound. I'll keep playing with it and provide a more informed opinion later :)

Once you go through the ordering prompts it directs you to a page where you pay via Paypal.
No other options?... :help: Ok, I have to learn how this paypal works... :-o at least if I keep that ugly box...

Just to refer to a nice bug, if you sent a program change via midi, the number on plugiator doesn't update, so you have no clue which program is selected... nice for live use, isn't it?

Wanna sync the delay to the midi clock? Does not work! Well, you might answer, my minimoog never had a delay, it's no different on scope and the sound isn't too well either... but what the heck does this interest me today!
<snip>
No comments on those two bugs / issues I brought up earlier???
No one confused by wrong patch numbers?...

In the meantime I found another bug... If you have Plugiator chained up in a midi line where other devices send sysex data that is not meant for plugiator the thing starts to go mad... and there is no way on plugiator to filter and ignore sysex yet... this can be really a serious problem.

UseUadio guys got nervous when I reported the latter and sice then, they were hiding away and didn't answer any of my further questions... :help: Hope they are just on holiday...

But I guess again there is no one out here who uses plugiator in a traditional midi chain, right? :-o

Hi TiUser

Yes, I've seen the program change thing in action - send a change via MIDI and the preset number stays the same on the front panel.

I haven't tried the other yet.

I'll email and ask what's happening, as well. Let's see what happens.

I'm still waiting for a reply to a couple of emails to them (one from before I got the unit), so I'm not really so hot on registering this if they aren't going to do decent support. My issue only happens with the MiniMax so I know it isn't my controller or antyhing like that. Oh well, I love the sounds but the company isn't really impressing me at the moment.

Edit - they did answer now, hopefully my minor issues can be fixed as I do love the sounds.

buscemi, if you like the minimax, i seriously recommend getting the prodyssey and pro-12 also. for the price of the upgrade its really cheap....

us Soniccore users have to pay a little more...

but these three are amongst the best SC/CW emeulation and also among the best emulations ever. Really fat.
:)

The filters and oscillators sound completely different on these three.

The lightwave is more or less an older cw synth (no analog modelling).

Oh no worries, I plan to just snap up the bundle (though technically that's paying for a plugin that doesn't yet exist - Drums N Bass but I really don't see that being the biggest draw for me anyway) ASAP.

Thanks... yup, report it to UseAudio, the more people do, the better.

I am just about checking out midi control and the horror continues :-o

Routed the glide switch of minimax (CC#65) to my keyboard controller... and operated it several times while playing... got stuck notes!!!

All only Midi, no USB connect at all.

Ask myself what happens next when I assign more controllers... :help:

Can't help, feel this thing is BETA :-o

I also think these are the valuable synths in plugiator... (plus vocodizer of course)

Do they? I remeber an offer for 129 bucks not only providing about 30 or so Scope plugins but also prodyssey and pro12 for plugiator. Can't find the link right know. Isn't that still availiable?? Has anyone still got that link?

Not thrilled by Lightwave and FMagia either, but who cares, plugiator can run one only at a time anyway...

Curious about Drum's 'n Bass either... who thinks we will ever see it? :x

Interesting... what issues are you talking about?

I found some issues with minimax too... and I am also hesitating to register and deciding to keep it because of a couple of other issues... and maybe I feel like you, some great sounds but the platform looks like beta... :(

Concerning email support, I sent many emails too, but since last week response slowed down! I guess the first wave of complaining users grows... :help:

excerpt from SC site:

For present reason: We have to point out that some regular SCOPE plug-ins are currently offered by a company from China. These will NOT be compatible with SONIC CORE PLATFORM 5! We are not responsible for this offer and we are checking legal aspects and consequences.

there was a little war going on between use audio and SC.

(
CW once was many devevelopers and the owner was Frank Hund....
later there was the first insolvency(2003).
most if not all developers left the company. The development of scope stopped more or less completely and they started building ASB boxes, ....

and after the second insolvency(end of 2006), some of the former cw employees (developers) bought the rights of the cw technology and created SC company.

Frank Hund the original owner also bought the rights for the CW technology and created InDSP, later use-audio(if i understand correctly).
)

USE Audio offered an ultra cheap pack for upgrading scope, which was really against SC policy.

So there was a small war going on. It seems use audio has stopped the offer.

Hi Folks,

:?: BTW is there anyone already registered with UseAudio and can tell if there are valuable sounds in their online database?

Sounds not great for the future of plugiator... as I guess the skill is still with SonicCore and not in far east...

Thats why I do have high hopes for the new SC SFP platform. They now have the dsp coder back in team, that did major parts of the dsp atoms of the complete platform and big parts of the minimax, prodyssey and pro-12.

I really do hope they bring this a step further and come up with new emulations.

But you cannot really argue about the plugiator, it never was so cheap to get acces to the sound of CW. The ASB and Klanhboxes had only one synth plugin inside)

The xite-1 is much more expensive, although if you comapare the price/value ratio, I think the XITE-1 is even the cheaper pack. Its like 10 or more plugiators for ~3000 bucks and you get much more plug-ins and much more flexibility (effects, routing and asio multichannel soundcard)

So the products complement each other quite well IMO, with the plugiator as entry level product and the XITE-1 more advanced and expensive.

I don't see things being so bleak for Use Audio. It seems they are having 1.0 problems and they've pulled that one offer. The product is pretty solid so far, one of my issues was mainly to do with my stupid controller not playing nice with it but once I installed the Plugiator Mac software and got my controller configured a bit better (I had to run their - CME - software in a Windows VM to do so, what a pain... if you think Plugiator seems beta try reading a CME manual and using their awful "Brain" software some time!).

TiUser - how long do you have before you can return yours? Seems like you've had it for a while and you're still on the fence. Also, you did mention things about the internals and how it could be made into a card version for the controllers to accept that, I hope you didn't actually open it. If so, it wouldn't be very cool to return it after doing so. Just sayin'

I have to say I'm in agreement about the positive feel on the organ too. Not groundbreaking but it seems pretty high quality to me. I can add distortion if I need it, as others suggested and I can either live with the delay that's on board or add my own too.
