actually she's one in a million and I'm lucky to have her. Believe it or not I'm a bit of a clown and she loves it, we were just talking about some of my loonyness today. But I always go out of my way to appreciate her daily, which is usually followed by an "oh my gawd" from my daughter's room.

You see I found the loophole to those trap door questions. If when asked "does this make me look fat?" one cannot answer yes obviously and if I say no I'm bound to get the "oh you're just saying that, I can't trust you anymore" or "it better not", or even worse "are you sure" which can drag on all day. The best answer I've come up with is things like "huh...did you say something? I was too busy checking out your ass". Hinkasm, they key to happy relationship :tu:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

back on topic a little bit...

I just turned 29 and I'm always picking up and learning new skills. Hell, I just started a tech job in an extremely specialized based around proprietary hardware and software and it's a very steep learning curve to surmount. Thus far, I'm not having any problems with it. For that matter I only just started playing guitar two years ago and while I have a lot to learn there's no way people would have any idea that I haven't been playing it a lot longer.

Age, as they say, ain't nothin but a number. If you want to learn, and are willing to learn (and can be ok with falling on your face a few times in the process) then you'll learn it. If you're going to let doubt stop you from even starting then save yourself the time and don't even bother.

Well, I started learning the drums when I was 36 (37 now).
I'm having a blast doing it too :D

I'm also just starting to learn Dreamweaver and Maya.

Age is no barrier and there's absolutely why you shouldn't go for it.

The more I think of it, despite mature learning perception, practice time for proficiency needed to master techniques are often factors adults will not have, due to the need for other important matters. (at least with children they have all the time in the world)

Anyway, to learn for fun is the best way to teach yourself how to use or play anything. I only muck around on drums (never professional lessons for any instrument) and well, let's just say rhythm is something I enjoy a lot, as opposed to keyboard plonking.

Anyone of any age can learn, it's just the patience to do so...

I try to learn another instrument every couple of years. I haven't had any problems doing that, and I'm now...well, I think I'm about Deb's age... :hihi:

Depending on the woman that could work or could be a big disaster.. :hihi:

I think the best way to avoid those questions is to find a woman that doesn't ask them (they exist!)

No, it's not! It's never too late to learn the piano! So tired of seeing that question everywhere :)

That might have been the case back in the day, but not in 2019!

Like Frostnip suggested, I think keeping time between practices as short as possible is a great thing to do.

Ever looked into to online courses?

It's like having a virtual teacher beside you that helps you with your training 24/7, except it's a lot cheaper.

It's very aggressive and not for everyone, but it taught me & my eldest daughter A LOT very, very quickly.

Good luck with learning the piano! :)
Why not?
