Yeah, it just confirms what I suspected -- Automap3 standard seems more like a demo/advertiser for the 3pro -- every time I click something new, there comes a popup saying "this feature is only available in the pro version" -- it's disappointing -- I was really glad with my SL61 since I bought it 1 year ago -- I'm not complaining about the price,it's just that right now I can't make payments through the internet (and to say the truth I'd rather avoid buying things through the internet as much as possible, because I think it's still not safe enough) -- I bought my SL in a music shop, the old fashioned, safe way, so I really wasn't expecting this ... This model of "rented" software is the reason why I gave up on Steinberg -- I just got tired of paying an annual "fee" for every bunch of incomplete updates that used to be free in the good old days... from sx1 onwards they decided to call this minor updates an "upgrade" instead, and ask for 200€ every year...
To be fair to Novation, though, I did find that the Automap3 standard now shows the host sequencer mixer on screen... other then that, nothing else noteworthy... well... I guess I just will have to get me a credit card and risk being robbed by pirates in the next dark corner ...of the internet

Thanks. I had to disconnect my USB-audio-interface first. Only then would automap 3 recognize my 37SL and update the OS.
Unfortunately now all my automapped plug-ins are missing the automap frame. I cannot switch between maps anymore, been stuck with the first loading plug-in in every session.

I didn't try version 3 yet, but since all the cool features seems to be in the pro version I think I'll stick with version 2 since it's working good for me and I don't want any problem. Good luck man!

Don't buy it, people are saying it's buggy... plus it's not exactly a fair position they're putting us in in the first place... we need to push them to hold up their end of the deal - providing the features they advertised with the purchase price of our hardware.

can i switch the knob mappings but between the pages ? For example i have knob X on page 1 and knob Y on page 2 - can i switch them with Pro version ?

I have the pro version and I asked that as well and no you can not drop and drop between pages, only on the same page. Pretty lame if you ask me.

It's not really working on my system, Not sure what's wrong but a lot of weird things happening. I guess i'll just wait till some of tehse problems are straightened out? Sigh. Not only do we have to pay for it but it's full of bugs too...

I don't remember the support email, but in the Novation Yahoo group several people have complained that lately they take a lot of time to answer(if ever). However, Mike G., from Novation frequently posts in the group itself, if there's a solution to problems like yours. I've never seen anyone from Novation here at the KVR forums, so maybe you should do like me -- use the Yahoo group to bug reports and use the KVR forums to exchange ideas with fellow users.

So this automap 3 not all it's cracked up to be? I'm thinking about getting a nocturn for softsynth control. If it's not working out the box then i may as well get a bcr2000 if i'm going to have to map everything myself...

Does the speed dial work on everthing? Can you use to record automation?

The speed dial works on anything the mouse is focussed on, but it still persists in moving the mouse cursor at the same time. ie - if you turn the dial clockwise the mouse cursor will move also, and will no longer be on the item you want, so if you let go of the dial you have to re-position the mouse cursor back on the item to control it with the speed dial.

The cross-fader is still very slow to pick up its control. I like it mapped to osc mix in Massive but it's an increasing pain to use.

The speed-dial selection of presets (push in & turn) only works on certain soft synths - although I don't think that is Novations fault.

I'm selling my Nocturn as it simply does not do what's promised efficiently enough, there's still no support for FL and it takes an age to load mapped soft-synths - even worse since v3. I loved it at first but hardly use it now as I constantly have to keep grabbing the mouse aswell and so the whole point is defeated. Add to that the Automap 3 Pro bollox and I've had enough.

Damn that's a shame! It sounds perfect in every way but seems like people are having the same issues i've had with previous sl remotes.

I don't really have room for a bcr but i need something! Don't know enough about the nanos from korg...

I just wanna controller for my softsynths!
