I wasn't at all, just trying to make sure there are no issues.

I used to help out a lot back in the #musicdsp days, I'm not the bad guy you think I am.

No its just that general tone of your posts imply that I'm there to screw people off by hiding a demo.

Are you trying to imply that video game sounds can't be musical?
I don't know - is it the sort of sounds you got in old games like space invaders etc? Or can it do more complex stuff than that?

Post

There's a lot of music that uses chip sounds, from indie electro rock to dubstep.
Chip sounds has a certain instability that cuts through the mix nicely.

I'm not sure I get you, but if you're asking whether this can sound like Absynth or Omnisphere then I'd say the answer is 'no'.

This looks/sounds really interesting, Im gonna wait until theres a demo though before i buy. Unless you give educational discounts?

I can see how these sounds could be useful for me anyway

Fantastic Demo songs by the way.

this is a must buy for me

Ah right,
Nice videos, Im definitely interested, One of the short films Im doing in Uni could perhaps use these sounds quite well. but Il have to decide before the nov. 1st price increase. With the Vat on top, 59GBP is maybe a little too much to justify a synth I may only get one real use from, But Il have a think, maybe theres some other stuff Im doing that it might be useful for.

i picked this up on launch day and i can confirm that it's really good. huge range of sounds, lots of controllability and the layering and arpeg/sequencer are fantastic, this is the first thing i've played with that matches stuff that the sidstation can do.

the lack of vst params is a little bit of a shame but everything is still tweakable via midi cc's, and it's definitely worth shelling out for.

doesn't burn much cpu either btw. 3%-5% cpu on a low end core 2 duo.

the SID emulation in there is great, btw. 8580 and 6581 are in there as separate options.

Theres an annoying bug in Snow Leopard. It freezed the first time you open it, then you need to force quit it and open it again. Then it works. It does this every time.

Thanks for the report, thats the standalone?
It "sounds" like a audio device issue, could you send us your logs?
Just run "Generate logs" in the plogue/chipsounds folder.

please come visit our forums if you can.

yes, we are quite glad of the low CPU ness of our new oscilators. the CC vs vst paramter thing is going to be the major issue people will be reporting, i know. As this is multitimbral, theres no much point in a flat param list.

For some update in the future I could make a monno timbral/single chip version that would have the normal params.

Thanks!
